Caterer and sleuth extraordinaire Goldy Schulz jumps from the frying pan into the fire as she tries to solve a puzzling murder that is much too close to home, in this latest entry in the New York Times bestselling series from "today's foremost practitioner of the culinary whodunit" (Entertainment Weekly) The Whole Enchilada Goldy Schulz knows her food is to die for, but she never expects one of her best friends to actually keel over when she's leaving a birthday party Goldy has catered. At first, everyone assumes that all the fun and excitement of the party, not to mention the rich fare, did her in. But what looks like a coronary turns out to be a generous serving of cold-blooded murder. And the clever culprit is just getting cooking. When a colleaguea woman who resembles Goldyis stabbed, and Goldy is attacked outside her house, it becomes clear that the popular caterer is the main course on a killer menu. With time running out, Goldy must roll up her sleeves, sharpen her knives, and make a meal out of a devious murderer, before that killer can serve her up cold.

It was so much fun curling up with Goldy‘s latest adventure. At the birthday party for her son & his best friend, the other mother dies. Was it a heart attack or was she poisoned? And, what on earth had caused her life to go in such a tailspin lately?

1. Diane Mott Davidson‘s series was the first food-based series I remember enjoying
2. Pad See Iew, Chicken Alfredo, Beef Bulgogi, dessert
3. Liver, gamey meat, oh, eggs and onions together (separate is fine, I got sick on vacation at age 6 whilst eating a western omelet, I‘m 41 and still not over it)
4. Christmas Eve appetizer buffet
5. Local Greek place right now

A fitting end for the series - which came at a good time. Kudos to Davidson for knowing when something was done.

As usual, I thoroughly enjoyed this culinary mystery. I've read the whole Goldy Bear series. They're perfect light, quick reading - just what a good cozy mystery should be, in my opinion. The only problem is, these books always make me want to cook a lot! I love it that this book has some delicious-sounding Mexican recipes in it - my favorite! Looking forward eagerly to the next installment.

#librarylove San Antonio's Central Library is downtown and easily spotted because of it's "enchilada red" exterior. There is an art gallery on the first floor as well as a used book store in the basement. Out of the 27 current branches, I use the Pruitt library weekly. It's actually part of a high school library so I can check out items from both libraries. We also have access to services like OverDrive. #somethingforsept #septphotochallenge

While binge-watching Veep during my staycation I spotted a bunch of @WilliamMorrow books featured in the episode! Diane Mott Davidson is a great lady, and she was the first novelist to pen a culinary cozy mystery. Her plucky heroine is a caterer who after stumbles upon dead bodies at events she caters. 🔪🍽

Shortstack I love VEEP although I think I like the early seasons better than the later. 8y
[DELETED] 2232195534 Loved Davidson's books. Yes, think she's the first mystery author I know who included recipes. Remember thinking that was so cool! 8y
