The Maze Cutter: A Maze Runner Novel | James Dashner
2 posts | 3 read | 1 to read
70 years after the events of THE DEATH CURE, when Thomas and other immunes were sent to an island to survive the Flare-triggered apocalypse, their descendants have thrived. But when a rusty old boat shows up one day with a woman bearing dark news of the mainland, a group of the islanders decide to embark back to civilization. There they find that many have evolved into a more violent, intelligent version of Cranks due to a new string of the virus, and they are hunting those whose ancestors were sent away by Ava Paige. The islanders will have to survive long enough to figure out why they are hunted and what it means for the future of humanity.

I can‘t believe that it‘s time to think about February TBR! I am still reading my #Roll100 for January. I am DNFing one from January, The Young Widower‘s Handbook, since it has been on my shelf a while and did not pick it as my next physical read. For February, my picks are The Teacher, The Maze Cutter, and Ice Like Fire. @PuddleJumper

PuddleJumper I still refuse to believe it's 2025! 🤣 2w

Pickpick

I have seen a lot of negative reviews about this book, so I was a little skeptical going into it. However, I thought it was really good. I think it works really well not having many of the original characters in it, because of that it definitely felt like a spin-off series. I almost think I enjoyed it more than Maze Runner. Of course, it's been a long time since I last read those books, so I could be remembering wrong.
