Ravenscroft's Last Case
Ravenscroft's Last Case | Kerry Tombs
1 post | 1 read
Detective Inspector Ravenscroft receives a strange note from a lonely old woman fearing for her life. But when he visits her, she is already dead. Did Miss Maud Fincher's Heart Give Out or was she scared to death?
Maud Fincher was part of a group of locals trying to speak to their deceased loved ones through the medium of séance. Ravenscroft thinks this is harmless nonsense . . . until the old lady’s last surviving heir is murdered.
Is there something sinister going on at these séances?
In his last-ever case before retiring Ravenscroft must question everything, he believes in order to catch this killer.

Pickpick

Not the first time that a Joffe Book had printing errors. Even pages from 116 to 214 had the last word on each line shortened or missing. As can be seen in the photo. Apart from that, this was a very enjoyable read and an exceedingly difficult case, the last for Inspector Ravenscroft. I found the ending satisfying and heartfelt. An interesting #Historicalcrime mystery to be savoured.
