You might think that of all people, it would be narcissists who fit #loveyourself yet it is often the case that it is a mask that is covering deep self-loathing. A memorable definition of a narcissist is “an energy vampire“ which reminds me of this excellent coffee table book that does exactly what the title says: it covers the first 100 years of vampire cinema. Plus, with a chapter title of “Cloak & Swagger“ the pun game is strong.

Bookwomble I really like Christopher Frayling. His TV show The Birth of Horror was great and I wish he'd done more. He's been knighted, and I'm amused to just find that his motto is "Perge Scelus Mihi Diem Perficias" ... "Go ahead and make my day". Well, he has written a book about Clint Eastwood ? 2y
vivastory @Bookwomble I wasn't familiar with him until this book. That show sounds really interesting though! That's a great motto 😂 2y
Bookwomble @vivastory The book I'm currently reading is one of his, and it's very interesting. 2y
