pick86/150 I'm still giving this a pick, even though I didn't enjoy it as much as the first two of the series. There was a good mystery, some clever misdirection, lots of clever banter, and a satisfying reveal of the murderer. My problem with the book is Richard's development as a character. After 3 murder investigations, when his own life was often in danger, Richard is pretty much the same guy at the

RamsFan1963 beginning of the first book. Still timid, no self confidence, bumbling, confused and easily rattled. If there's a 4th book in the series, I hope the author invests Richad with a stronger backbone, and maybe some confidence in his developing detective skills. 3 ⭐⭐⭐ 1/2 2y
