Sent to the basement to find his sister‘s missing sock, Milo soon finds himself on an unbelievable adventure when he discovers the basement is far larger, older, & more mysterious than he could have anticipated. A marvelous story about finding your courage, friendship, compassion, and curiosity. There is plenty of adventure & just the right amount of danger in this fabulous, wonderfully illustrated MG graphic novel.

Ben Hatke could not write a bad book if he tried. While his books are meant for kids, they pull at the heartstrings of all ages. In this book we follow Milo as he searches for his baby sibling‘s sock. Milo and his family have just moved into the new house and the basement is a tad bit scary. This basement isn‘t just scary. It‘s crazy. It‘s crazy big and Milo meet some new fantastic friends. They are very few words in this book.

Short on words but full of art this book is highly recommended for anyone who‘s ever been afraid of what might be lurking in the basement! The artistic changing jewel tones are also a unique touch.
