It's mom's birthday today and we're celebrating by going day drinking 🎉🍻

Still making my way through this book. It's going a lot slower than most cookbooks do. Not sure if this is because it's more a how-to introduction to East Asian cuisine for Americans? Or because it's just boring? Can't tell. But ANYWAYS, lots of learning about ingredients used in this cuisine 🐣

Trying out three recipes this week from this highly-recommended cookbook that I first encountered at The Strand in NYC. So far, I like their writing, and their practical approach to sourcing ingredients.

RadicalReader @Karen_V I love to cook and enjoy cooking w cook books so much more so easy and makes it a lot of fun and being able to compare your version to the book version can be … interesting 7y
Karen_V @RadicalReader This one has been great!! The ingredient lists & techniques alone make it worth a read-through. I made the fried rice a couple of days ago, and it was easier than I expected. 7y

I love cooking but too often, it looks like a mess and tastes like a mess. Books (always) to the rescue. Pictured are the full set and the ones that get the most use. I cannot say enough good things about the Lucky Peach, I would hard-core recommend it just for the shopping list and dumpling dipping sauce.

RanaElizabeth And a story about the Moosewood. I learned a lot of cooking from my mom whose best recipes are from her original copy of Moosewood. I can only hope that one day, my copy is as stained and used as hers. 7y
Lindy Nice to see Mollie Katzen and Madhur Jaffrey on your most-used stack too. I'm going to check out Lucky Peach on your recommendation. 👍 7y

I ordered a small heap of cookbooks a week or so ago, and this was the first to arrive. I had fun flipping through it earlier and really enjoyed the writing style; here's hoping we actually cook something! (Oh yeah, the recipes look good too.)

Pickpick

This is one of the best cookbooks I have ever used. It's genuinely easy to follow the recipes. I've learned a lot about an ingredients and cooking techniques I can apply to the way I cook and eat, not just to the specific meals inside. I haven't even made 1/3 of the recipes yet but every single one is a winner so far.
