Classical Art
Classical Art: From Greece to Rome | John Henderson
5 posts | 3 read | 1 to read
'The book is part of a series of introductory studies intended to bring the latest developments in art history to students and general readers. But it offers something new to the specialist reader too [...] the quantity of illustrations is impressive for such a slim and inexpensive book ...Classical Art is illuminating, playful, provocative, and often (literally) iconoclastic' -Times Higher Education Supplement

Pickpick

As art history introductions go this was pretty flawless! It was very deep and thought provoking but didn‘t require any prior knowledge, I felt like I got my head round some long running debates and complex concepts at the same time as just appreciating all the art. I really want to read other art history books in this series!

shortsarahrose I haven‘t read this one, but I studied art history in college and we used books from this series in both the contemporary art and methodology classes I took. 5y

Good morning all. Lockdown continuing to treat me okay-ish, I‘m reading slowly and adjusting to having a lot less to do with my days. At least I now have a wonderful excuse to stay inside while my allergies are bad. The weather here is beautiful atm which makes staying inside harder though, it‘s so beautiful outside.

Texreader Spring is always hard for me. It‘s the most beautiful time of the year and the best temperatures but my allergies go crazy! 5y

RadicalReader @BrainyHeroine what is your favorite book cover out of all books you have seen? 8y
BrainyHeroine @RadicalReader that is a really hard question. I always love the cover of the next book I'm reading, but of all time probably goes too an edition of Don Quixote. It was simple, just a windmill and a knight, but it was the first time I saw a book that made my heart flip. I think I was five or six and wouldn't even read DQ for a few years. It 8y
