I may be reading for classes, but I'm still enjoying this #hellooctober readathon spent #readingoutside !

brendanmleonard I have been really interested in both these books. 8y
Caterina @brendanmleonard Oh, that's exciting! My Ancient Greek class is reading the Odyssey, and I became interested in writing a paper relating to Odysseus as a veteran struggling to readjust to peacetime. My professor told me about this book, and I'm enjoying it and learning a lot from it!! 8y

So excited for this treatment of the Odyssey in the context of veterans' homecomings and psychological injuries! As I reread the Odyssey I was struck by the apparent accuracy of its depiction of veterans' readjustment and trauma, and here is a VA psychiatrist to shed more light on the matter!
