@Cuilin ... I remember reading your review of this a few months ago, and I immediately stacked it. MACBETH is my favorite Shakespearean play, and I was like, “A book about Lady Mac?“ Yes, please! I just read HEREAFTER a couple of months ago and look forward to diving into this one. The bookmarks are frickin' adorable, too! I'm so glad we're journeying through #NPLH together and am lucky to have found you on Litsy. 🩵💙🩵

If you enjoy the Scottish Play, this is its prequel in novel form. A very enjoyable read if you‘ve ever queried why Lady Macbeth became so ambitiously ruthless. Though it lacked some energy in the middle the ending was fantastic. I shall be pulling out my copy of the play soon for a reread.

This was a fun fan fiction about Lady Macbeth. Wonderful imaging what her life was like leading up to the beginning of the play. Perfect to get me out of a reading slump. 3 🌟

I wanted to like this so much! But this took an ambitious, active character & turned her into a passive, fearful woman whose entire life was driven by the men around her. She makes so few choices, it frustrated me. Very well written, w/ the supernatural atmosphere I wanted from one of my fave Shakespeare plays, but ultimately disappointing. 🌕🌕🌗🌑🌑
