Here‘s my progress on my next Netgalley tracker. Timeboxing is the last Netgalley ARC I‘m reading this month. I‘m saving the other 6 ARCs for April because they‘re going on sale in April. All I know about Timeboxing is that it‘s a time management book so I‘m interested to see if I like it or not. I need to read it next because it‘s going on sale this month.

The second book in the series was worth the wait. Riley Fisher is one of my favorite law enforcement heroes. She is flawed but she is fierce. Murder, mayhem, killers, terrifying violence, family, abuse, love, hate. This book will grab you and hold you until the end. More Riley Fisher, please! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The sequel to THE FIELDS finds Riley in a new position as a rookie FBI agent in Des Moines where it seems the serial attacker dubbed the “Sin Eater” has returned after a long hiatus. Joining the task force, and new threats to Iowa‘s first female governor beef up the plot. Unfortunately this one leaves you feeling like justice isn‘t really served & the emphasis on women‘s rights issues are equally stressed and left behind by the end. Uneven pacing!

Riley Fisher has very quickly become one of my favorite characters of the thriller genre. This is the second book in the series and I enjoyed it as much as I did book one. I definitely hope there will be many more books in the series because I love the stories and the characters.

This was such a great thriller!

Thank you so much to the publisher and goodreads giveaways for an advance copy of this novel on exchange for an honest review.

Tonight, I listened to more of this book and I‘ve decided that I want to continue reading it. It dragged a little bit in the beginning but around 60%, it got better and now, I‘m interested to see what happens next. This is the second book in a series. Maybe after reading this book, I‘ll read the first book. I just stopped reading this book for the night so I can go to sleep but I don‘t want to go to sleep. I want to keep reading this book.

I started this book. This is another Netgalley book I have to read. I feel like this book is not for me. I‘m going to keep reading until 30% instead of 60%. If it doesn‘t improve at 30% then I‘ll bail. I worry that I‘m not giving books a fair chance if I bail before 60% of the book has been read but I‘ve realized that it‘s okay to stop reading a book I‘m not enjoying at any time no matter what percentage I‘m at in the book.

La_Cori I usually DNF a book before reaching 50%.. once I'm in the second half, i try to finish it because i've already invested time and effort (and abandoning the read would be a double defeat) I don't know if it makes any sense to anyone else or just for me 😅 9mo
