Actually, I thought to only read one of the Warhammer Guides each month. But then #BookSpinBingo happend and I thought “I get a bingo if I read one more“ and after that “I get another bingo if I read one more.“ And somehow I managed three bingos like that 😆

Happy Easter, Littens!

Pickpick

Not really the tagged book, but I go with what's in the database.

These guides are made for those people playing the Warhammer 40K tabletop game. Which I don't. But I love Warhammer and therefore want to nerd my way through whatever comes my way. And I did learn a lot about the several different groups and legions. What their strengths are and what- no, apparently they don't have any weaknesses. Alright, then...

I finally, finally made my Bingo Board for #BookSpinBingo - why does life always interfere with the really important things? (like making #BookSpinBingo cards)

My #BookSpin is one of my Warhammer 40K Guides, a collection of the Leagues of the Imperium. And my #DoubleSpin is Nettle & Bone by T. Kingfisher, a book I wanted to read for AGES 😄

bookwyrm7 Wait wait wait wait hold on a sec.... Warhammer? As in the tabletop game? You're a player? Besides game guides, is there any lore books you'd recommend? (Also, are you also a fan of Twilight Imperium by any chance? ) 2mo

Jari-chan @bookwyrm7 Yes, exactly! But I'm not a player, even though I have some figures and as a fan read the indexes because I learn a lot from those. If you play the game you sure could read the books about the Horus Heresy, but I also recommend William King's books about Macharius or actually anything by Dan Abnett 😁 I'm not familiar with TI, is it only a game or are there books about it too? 2mo
bookwyrm7 @Jari-chan I haven't started reading the indexes yet because I'm still learning about magic the Gathering, D&D and TI, and starting another hyperfixation, especially one as expensive as that one, is a bit too much atm 😅 But I used to hang out at a games shop where a lot of my friends played that and I'd love to immerse myself in the lore at some point. TI is mostly a game but there are books too. 1/1 2mo
Jari-chan @bookwyrm7 Oh wow, you're impressive! It sure is a lot of fun to do all those. But yes, I imagine Warhammer to be an expensive hobby. Especially if you also want to paint your own characters, which oc is a huge point in the hobby. I might have to look into the TI books, they might be of interest to me too😊 2mo
bookwyrm7 @Jari-chan have you ever played Risk? It's a Risk meets Game of Thrones, but more complex and set in space, where you play as an alien species (or as the humans). Each faction has a back story but then throughout the game you can choose to make alliences with other factions, backstab your allies, sell technology, trade, etc... There are some books with lore and stories. I can look them up and give you their details if you'd like to check it out. 2mo
Jari-chan @bookwyrm7 I've heard of Risk and it sounds fascinating. It reminds me of a pc game my partner used to play. I always enjoyed watching her play. That would be really nice, but I don't want to bother you 😅 2mo
bookwyrm7 @Jari-chan it's no bother. I sent you the start of the book series on Goodreads. I haven't read them yet, but were recommended to me by a veteran TI player. May I ask what was the name of the game? 2mo
Jari-chan @bookwyrm7 Thank you very much for the tip, the series goes straight to my TBR 😁 I asked her and the response was, that she plays a lot of those 😅 it might be Galactic Civilization. 2mo
bookwyrm7 @Jari-chan haha thanks, I'll check it out! 2mo
