This is a grim, gruesome, gory novel, but it has a joyous ending. Rita Todacheene‘s gift may just kill her this time. But she has a secret weapon, a community of love. Will she be able to solve the murders before it‘s too late? This is such a fantastic series. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

In the follow up to Shutter (definitely read that one first), Rita continues to be plagued by ghosts talking to her and hostility at work. Plus there appears to be a serial killer operating in the area. While still dark, this wasn‘t quite as dark and devastating as Shutter and in fact has a note of hope. It‘s a good follow up.

This sequel to SHUTTER opens up six months later, with Rita being called back into her job taking forensic photos for the Albuquerque police. With the same matter of fact brutality, supernatural influence & with a dark secondary perspective, this sequel weighs heavier than the first book. I wouldn‘t start here & I‘m glad about the hints for Rita‘s well-being in a third installment. The audio is well-performed & I‘m looking forward to the next one!
