A novel that takes the reader through the current timeframe and bounces back ten years. Three rich high school seniors go to an old island near Greece . No parents go. The story has some tragic consequences as 1 girl dies. Was it an accident and or something more sinister? There are lies to be dealt with and uncovered. It‘s slow moving in a few places and other places where the plot races. 4/5

Lots of actions and lots of people involved. We have an accident with high school students, many who died as a result of. There‘s an annual weekly reunion at a beach house. Most of these young women and men would rather be just about anywhere else. There are secrets, lies, and suicide. There‘s lots to hide. Unexpected circumstances seem around every corner. What will happen and secrets be revealed? 4/5

You Shouldn't Be Here | Lauren Thoman

This novel has lots of unusual and rather unique elements in it. Two of the characters may have ghostly influences on each other, maybe. Of course, there are murders and one very evil person. From the start there really wasn‘t any question as to whodunnit. Lots of twists and turns along the way to keep the pages turning. 3.75/5

I really liked Girl, Forgotten. I liked the US Marshal, Andrea Oliver who is sent to in protecting the Judge who was receiving death threats. Andrea had been intrigued after hearing about a teenager Emily Vaughn in 1982. Emily was very pregnant and dressed for the prom. Emily‘s daughter is the judges granddaughter. Andrea is determined to solve the murder. With lots of unexpected turns and twists along the way we wonder if it will be solved. 4.5/5

Yosemite National Park is the main setting for this thriller. Cassie Peters is the main character and she‘s trying to escape a troubled relationship. Cassie working in a search and rescue team in the park. There are others who are also running from problems. There are lots of twists and turns in the novel, mostly unexpected. The ending was my least favorite part of the book. I will check out more of Catherine McKenzie‘s works. 3.75/5

I don‘t think I‘ve ever read a book quite like this. It was interesting that the land and its old rambling yellow house were the main characters. Those that inhabited it were intertwined in throughout the novel. I found the writing intriguing and colorful. Fantastical and fascinating at the same time. I kept wondering what would come next. This story was the “stuff of dreams,” and for those who of us who try to find meaning in them will love it!

AmyG I absolutely loved this one. 1w

The search is on and the killers appear to have killed before. The setting is Manchester Bay Minnesota. I enjoyed the mysterious events and most of the characters. 4/5.

An interesting story focused on computer security hacking. I think if I understood more about hacking I might have enjoyed it more. There were lots of twists as Jack tries to discover who murdered her husband Gabe. I enjoyed the story even though I didn‘t understand some of the terminology. I did give it a 3.75/5.

This was a mystery with a couple of murders. The interactions between the daughter, mother and grandmother were filled with frustration. I enjoyed reading and wondered who the killer was. The grandmother insisted she was trying to help the police solve the crimes. It was a quick read. 4/5

This book opened my eyes to how difficult it was to be a prisoner of war in Jalen during WWII. I felt myself tearing up with the abuse the soldiers suffered. I have been naive with my knowledge of history. At 70 years old, I am opening myself to knowledge. I find it hard to say I enjoyed reading this but it was an excellent book. 4.75/5

Junie Hayward aka Juniper Song is one character I would have loved to reach out and give her a good shake. She is accused of taking the work of another young writer and has it published after much rewriting. She certainly needed someone to give her some very stern advice. I enjoyed the book. R F Kuang certainly wrote a novel worth reading. 4/5

This was my first time reading a Clare Mackintosh. I enjoyed her writing. I liked the setting of a small lake in Wales. The novel was medium paced with plenty of reasons why Rhys was disliked and even hated. Finding him floating in the freezing lake wasn‘t a surprise. I liked most of the characters. I found myself wondering if there was anyone who truly liked Rhys. 4/5

This novels focus was on piracy in the music industry. The characters were self centered and not particularly like-able. The deaths and the abuses of the corpses were staged to try to intimidate those who were stealing music through illegal methods.

No Strangers Here was a mystery which was centered around the south of Ireland and the Dingle community. I enjoyed reading about the area and the Animals. This is the third book in the thriller series featuring Tori Hunter. The plot takes the reader back to something that happened a couple of decades ago, involving Tori‘s father Big Jim and others in law enforcement. That episode made current events difficult to understand and the unexpected murders were results not expected. I liked the novel. 4/5 stars

The 7th. Pom of the Will Trent series. Karin Slaughter has a way to take some “damaged” people and assist her readers in finding are really bad and taking other characters and helping them find some goodness deep inside. A fast paced psychological thriller. The novel has lots of twists I didn‘t expect. The wife is in prison for a crime she didn‘t commit. When she‘s released she plans a way to try to prove her innocence and be able to have her daughter live with her again. Who‘s the worst problem: her husband, her personal trainer/police officer or her best friend? I gave it a 4/5 rating.

The given facts and explanations of things occurring seem far fetched yet in some ways possible in the world we currently live in. This gothic historical fiction novel was different from what I expected. Ruby Vaughan works for a book seller. She‘s asked to deliver a trunk of books to a man in Cornish. The countryside is beautiful but a killer looms in the area. I enjoyed the book. 3.75/5

As the lies and secrets were uncovered, I found it strange how many people just closed their eyes and mouths to the facts. Eli was strange in many ways (I don‘t mean his being gay.) His statements were so varied from one account to the next with the death of his wife and son. I read this with an open mind but feel that Gregg Olsen has figured this out. I gave it a 3.5/5
