A mystery and romance novel written by Nora Roberts. The story has Sloan, a police officer almost killed in the line of duty. Recovery send her back to her childhood home. Her family is close and respected in her hometown. Nice characters as well as some really crazy ones round out the mystery. 4/5⭐️

This memoir is well written and beautifully she gives us examples how those with whom she has coached during their deaths. The very old Ojibwe leader Henry Meloux always plays an important character. The story takes place in Minnesota and in Canada among the lakes and waters there. 4.25/5⭐️

Many aspects of this book were difficult because of my total hatred of slavery. Dana a modern young black woman travels back in time to save a white boy. Dana is pulled back time after time to save the boy/man. I found the novel to be well written. I disliked many of the characters. 3.75/5⭐️

Gertie, a teenage girl and Christine, a young married woman became friends. Gertie‘s father and Christine‘s husband both worked on the gadget. Loneliness was common and the desert bleak.
