William Bees clever tale of celebrating every kind of winnerwarts optionalis brought to vibrant life by Kate Hindleys hilarious illustrations. Its time for the Best Monster in the World Competition, and Albert cant wait to enter his very own monster, Sidney, in the contest! Albert is absolutely sure that his pet is a winner. But, as monsters go, is sweet, well-behaved Sidney really the smelliest, dirtiest, most parasite-ridden monster of all?

Tomorrow I‘ll post my end-of-year reading brackets with my top reads of 2024. These are the ones that made the “top of the bottom” list.

Texreader Love this! I may have to do the same! Calling out those bad books! 2mo
willaful The only one of these I've tried is the Klune, which I DNF'd. 2mo
Amiable @willaful I made it through, but only because it was fairly short. 😬 2mo

Amiable @Texreader I appear to be in the minority with “The Women,” though. Lots of people have it on their best-of lists. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Totally not for me. 😖 2mo
BarbaraBB Oh no, I gave this one on my shelves 2mo
CarolynM I think there‘d be just one book on my worst of list 🥴 2mo
Amiable @BarbaraBB It was more “meh” than “yeah.” I did manage to finish it, so that‘s something. 2mo
Amiable @CarolynM I think that book was on The New York Times‘ “best of 2024” list but I hear terrible things about it so I‘m so confused. 😬😀 2mo
CSeydel I heard Rob Henderson on a podcast a while ago and was pretty impressed with him. The book wasn‘t so good, though? Too bad 1mo
Amiable @CSeydel I didn‘t care for it. I‘ve never heard of him before this. 1mo
