Liked the premise of this book, liked the intro of readings of each of the couples as they come to Rini‘s Astrological retreat. The story itself and how it was written almost gave me the thoughts to DNF. I made it to the end which was not bad but overall this read was not my cup of tea leaves!:)🍁 🍁 🍁
I recently saw this author's interview where she mentioned RHOBH influenced this story and I thought, "I have to read that book". I'm so glad I did! A great story that builds and builds to a great conclusion. Plus if you're a RH fan you'll see the influences and out right call out.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Simon & Schuster for this ARC in return for my honest review.
This is a thriller set among a group of friends at a small resort that features Astrology readings. What I appreciated is the suspense created throughout while the real 'thrill' only occurred at the end. The many secrets amongst the various married couples and the host, combined with the 'readings' provided clues to the final reveals. I enjoyed it and although there were many POVs, I followed it easily. Thanks to Edelweiss for the digital ARC. 4/5
The 1st thing that comes to mind when reading this books is drama, drama, drama. The 2nd is too many character POV, especially since they‘re all 1st person. All of the characters are wealthy, self-centered, hot messes, & while Rini, the host & astrologist doesn‘t fall into this category, I wouldn‘t say she was particularly likable either. W/ everyone having a secret, everyone begins to unravel as the storm, both metaphorical & literal, draws near.
A quick paced, fun read. A group of professionals and social media influencers head off to a zen retreat themed from the zodiac to enjoy some relaxation, meditation, and New Age nonsense. Secrets and lies bubble to the surface, leading to a murder. Cliché and predictable, it's obvious who the suspect is from the very beginning.
