I thoroughly enjoyed this thriller. A dark story about a woman who becomes a writer after the death of her famous writer husband, it centres on her past life as she tries to find out who else knew the real story behind her husband‘s novel. Smartly written, she‘s a cynical but sympathetic anti-hero. It‘s over the top by the end but I loved the tone, suspense, dark humour & lively pace.

I loved The Plot and keen to read this.
Really liked the idea and the fact that Anna feels like a good woman, even though we know she's a liar and worse
I found the other characters equally flawed and set out to prrofit themselves and thus was rooting for her!
The last fifty pages kept me guessing.

Anna Parker revealed herself to be a horrible murderous woman in the first installment of this story. She has done nothing to redeem herself in the sequel - even her justification for the murders are horrible, and yet I kept reading. It‘s a well written book with an intriguing plot, but you really need to be in the mood to dislike your main character.

I was very excited to read The Sequel but sadly it was not all that I hoped for. While it was nice to revisit some of the characters and events that occurred in The Plot, there were times when things did not make sense; they relied way too much on coincidences and circumstance, even for a piece of fiction. Some of the plot holes also took away from my enjoyment of the story as well as affecting my ability to relate to the story or the characters.

Totally implausible plot but it‘s a weirdly addictive ride that finds you rooting for the sociopathic main character.

This was a shockingly perfect escapist read for me over the weekend! Enjoyed it so much more than The Plot. Something about spending time with the unhinged female protagonist, perhaps...

This book is a definite extension of the first book in the best way. The same cheeky humor and peeking under the veil of the publishing/writing industry while also carrying some of the plot lines forward. It‘s bananas and I loved it.

Happily, I found this one less predictable than The Plot but also, it‘s incredibly far fetched. But there were a couple of real laugh-out-loud moments and overall, I enjoyed it!

Korelitz writes an anti-hero in a delicious way. While the idea of building a perfect life is taken to the extreme in this series, this novel reflects how many of us try to fool others into thinking we are something we are not. Between social media and our day-to-day lives, we all try to highlight our best parts. While most of us are just putting minor tweaks to our reality, Anna is taking it to a different level, making this novel quite twisty.

The Plot starts with Anna deciding to write her own novel after the death of her husband's book tour. However, this comes back to haunt her. Anna is determined to write her own happily ever after.

Anna is very snarky, is not 100% pure in her deeds and workings but you still want to root for her to win. There's information about the writing process, the publishing industry and this sequel is as good as the first book, "The Plot".
