I'd read this story in English as a child and decided to reread the original French version. Having vacationed in England recently, I enjoyed the friendly and humorous pokes at British culture. I liked especially Goscinny's take on how tea was introduced to the British!

Nothing quite like people bringing you souvenirs you can eat and read. I would have preferred getting to go to Paris in the springtime though.

I love comics, even though I am often the only one. 😉 Comics do have their own language and the shortness of the texts makes them more significant. 😙

When my hubby was a child, he and his Mom used to read these Asterix books together. She was a French teacher and he thought these stories were hilarious. Neither of us speaks French, but maybe someday we'll use them to brush up on our French-speaking skills. 😉 #day4 #notinenglish #seasonsreadings2016
