I have found the perfect book! The synopsis and intro already describe little old me to a tee. 😅 So let‘s see which cringey experiences and subsequent patronising brain chatter Hayley Morris and I have already had in common. 🙈

I thoroughly enjoyed this gloomy story set in 19th century Edinburgh. Think feminism meets Burke & Hare. Loved it.
It‘s a beautiful autumn morning with golden sunshine and the tangy scent of wet leaves in the air. 🍂 I‘m enjoying this book a lot. It‘s witchy like my previous read but less in a gothic and more in a cosy kind of way.
The kid is still home as his is the only test in the family that isn‘t fully negative yet but the line is super faint so I‘m hoping that he can go back to school on Thursday at the latest. 😅
And just like that you‘re home and back to the grind. Already missing the library and my wonderful reading buddies. #readingretreat

Perfect location for this book. 😊

Best place to read in is a library. 😍

Doing a Litsy buddy read while we‘re all at Gladstones Library together is fun.

Today is my Litsyversary. I‘ve lost track which one it is (5th maybe? or even 6th? 🤔 😅) but I just wanted to say that I still love this place, even if I might not be as active as I used to be. ❤️😊
Started listening to this on audio this morning (yes, I do see the irony) and can‘t stop. Such a great story!
#camplitsy
Wow, this book is going to become a new classic. Albus knows how to tell a simple story that will still make your heart sing. If you want The Railway Children vibes, pick A Place to Hang the Moon. It‘s a perfect soothing sanctuary of a book in these weird times.
It‘s June so summer reading has officially begun. Before I head into some more serious topics with #camplitsy I‘m diving into a promising palate cleanser. 😍
What a treat! I didn‘t realise at first that this book is actually from the early 90s. Loved it!!!
My haul from yesterday‘s London bookshop crawl with @squirrelbrain @Oryx @Leniverse and @LeeRHarry - what a lovely day out. Let me just say that many a book was bought. 😅
About to start this one. 😊
Another reading retreat at Gladstones Library is on the horizon. Anyone want to join us? All the info you need is on Helen‘s page - @squirrelbrain - because I‘m too daft this morning to know how to copy and paste her text. 😅 💗 #readingretreat
This was a fun read. Not a biography of Sylvia Beach but a beautifully told historical novel about the famous bookseller and her Paris bookshop.
Oh, hi there sun! I missed you!
I finally snatched a moment of more or less bright skies to take a picture of my current read. I love how Doerr connects three different timelines through one literary text. 😍
Don‘t you love that weird time between Christmas and New Year‘s? In Germany, we call this week “between the years” and I think that phrase perfectly captures the typical limbo feeling most of us experience during these days. It‘s usually the time of year I‘m most relaxed: everybody is home and we spend the days watching films, playing board games, going for walks, and reading. Days seem to blend into each other and you kind of lose track of time.
I was tagged in the #whitestackchallenge over on Instagram and thought I‘d post it here as well. Feel free to join in by posting a white/wintry stack of your own. 😊
Pretty cover meets an interesting mix of classic stories and poems. 😍
Getting started on our December Gladstonerds read. 😊
I have no s(h)elf control - when @Oryx read this book at the #readingretreat I was immediately fascinated by the synopsis (even though I still don‘t like the cover) so I ordered it as soon as we got home. 🙈😊
I miss Gladstones Library and the lovely Littens I spent the last weekend with. And I miss a fire at night and somebody bringing me tea. 😁 #retreathangover
Cold and windy winter nights call for the appropriate literary accompaniment. ❤️ #gladstonerds #readingretreat
What better book to read in a library than one called The Library Book. 😂 Thoroughly enjoying my reading retreat weekend with these wonderful Littens. #gladstonerds #readingretreat
Anne always speaks the truth. 😁❤️
My copy of Burden Falls arrived today! I loved Harrow Lake by the same author so I have high hopes for this one. 😍
Started this last night and enjoying it a lot so far. @TrishB @squirrelbrain @rockpools @Oryx @julesG @Caroline2 @jenniferw88 @Susanita @jhod @Leniverse
If you can read this, bring me my book! 😂 A friend gave me these socks yesterday and together with my new hammock, they make quite a pair (or trio?). 😁 Happy Sunday, Littens! 🌸
Thoroughly enjoyed this one. There is a longer review on my blog (www.theconstantreader.net) if anyone is interested. :) Looking forward to our bookclub discussion next week! @julesG @Oryx @squirrelbrain @TrishB @jenniferw88 @Mitch @Caroline2 @Susanita @rockpools @Leniverse
This is my second Kristin Hannah book and I‘m loving it so far. 😊
I‘m enjoying this book so so very much. 😍
When your local bookshop doesn‘t only provide you with a steady supply of books but also the prettiest handbags to put them in, that‘s when your credit card is getting into trouble. 😅😅
What‘s the weirdest not-a-book item you‘ve ever bought in a bookshop?? For me, it may have been a face mask but then that at least had books printed on it. 😂
Oh wow, that was a disappointment! The synopsis sounded so great but the execution was just bad. I found myself drifting off all the time and when I picked the book back up I could hardly remember what I had read before. What a pity as it really had a lot of potential.
What a ride! Absolutely loved it but constantly thought ‘What the heck am I reading?‘ 😂 Looking forward to our discussion, @Oryx @julesG @squirrelbrain @TrishB @Caroline2 @rockpools
Looking forward to my Piranesi #buddyread with some other Littens. I‘m currently reading The Lost and Found Bookshop but will start Piranesi immediately afterwards. 😊 The rest of this pile will have to wait till later this month. @Oryx @squirrelbrain @julesG @Caroline2 @Leniverse @rockpools Did I miss anyone?
Merry Christmas, Litsy fam!! 🎄
I first read ‘The Starless Sea‘ in November of 2019 and was blown away by the genius of it. The story has stuck with me for the past year, so when a few Litsy friends suggested a #readalong I figured it was time for a reread. So here I am with my cuppa and this amazing novel. 😍 @squirrelbrain @Oryx @julesG @Caroline2
So this happened. Wohee! 😁 🎉
Tonight‘s entertainment shall include a cosy Xmas read. 😍
Have you already read ‘The Miracle on Ebenezer Street‘? I‘ve heard so many good things so I recently caved in and ordered it. It‘s said to be a magically new take on ‘A Christmas Carol‘ so I‘m intrigued.
Do you revisit A Christmas Carol in whatever form during the holidays? Do you prefer the classic tale in book form, the Patrick Stewart film, or the Muppets movie version? Or any other adaptation?
This was a real treat of a book: whimsical and full of magic. ❤️
This book is ❤️. You should all read it, like now. 😁
My new pillows and autumn themed book are giving me all the cosy fall vibes. 😍
I love autumn and I love books with autumn themes. 😍
