This was a surprise! What a stunning little book about a family tragedy. A very sad story of loss and grief told from 4 different family member‘s perspectives and a rabbit during the COVID pandemic in 2020. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2
My Saturday nights are now spent, beer in hand, watching my son on YouTube play cricket in the Netherlands. Technology is a wonderful thing sometimes. 🏏 ♥️

A short Aussie novel. Short listed for the Stella award.Set during the lockdown it looks at the lives of 4 family member and a rabbit. Insightful, it deals with love, grief, and emotions that make up everyday life. Beautiful writing.

A sweet book about grief and family members moving through tragedy in their own ways and dealing with their different feelings of guilt. The multiple points of view made it harder for me to get into the story and at times it felt too sterile, but overall a light pick.

BarbaraBB I had it stacked but will unstack it now. I have so many books to read! 2mo
sarahbarnes @BarbaraBB others seem to like it more so maybe it‘s just me. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 2mo
Reggie Oof it brought out the “sterile.” lol I totally get that. 2mo

Stunning. Chose this #ozfiction for my book club to read this month. It was announced as a Stella Prize longlisted book this week. A very special, quiet exploration of grief.

I just about read this in one sitting. Jin, Amy, daughter Lucie, & grandmother Pauline are all dealing with a grief that's unrelated to but coincides with the 2020 COVID lockdown. Jin brings home a new pet rabbit as the novel opens, which had been much discussed. Pauline gets 10yo Lucie interested in Watership Down, which is maybe not the best book for a girl with already dark thoughts. I loved the characters and how real their relationships felt.
