High schooler Huda tries to maintain control when her parents start divorce proceedings. I've enjoyed all her previous books but I guess I wasn't the right audience for this one and it just didn't grab me.

This book reached out to me despite the generational and cultural gap that exists between me & Huda. This is a book that will help so many be seen. Huda's relationship with her family, religion, culture, & even herself is all part of the insightful and, for me, educational blend that turns a simple growing up story into a humorous learning tale that bridges so may divides.
4 ⭐While I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I wouldn‘t say it‘s fun. We follow Huda through her junior year as she finds out her parents are getting a divorce. She has to learn how to deal with this in a Muslim family where seeking mental health. This is handled in an intelligent and thoughtful way that teens who need it will fully understand. It also gives insight into the lives of a Muslim teenager that might be helpful to their non-Muslim friends.
