pickThis is a wonderful debut novel. It is an historical fiction inspired author's grandparents lives and is set in China in the late 1800's. It is a sad and in some ways tragic telling of the restricted lives led by women at that time, but it is not without hope. I would have given it a full five stars, but the ending felt a little rushed. I did still really love the story. and wait for more from this author. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. 4.5/5
