2 posts | 2 read | 1 to read
‘Tense, deceptive and darkly compelling – a brilliant debut’ T.M Logan ___________________________________________ A story of obsession, love and murder – and not the one you’re expecting. . . Discover a gripping new thriller with a killer twist at its core. When Claire surprises her fiancé, Noah, at work for their anniversary, she’s the one who ends up being shocked to her core ... Because Noah left the company nine months ago, and she had no idea. How can she not have known? Now he isn’t answering her calls. He won’t respond to her messages. He’s disappeared. As Claire desperately tries to find her fiancé, her world begins to shatter as the truth about who Noah really is starts to emerge. And things are about to spiral dangerously out of control . . . Praise for Cuckoo: 'With a killer premise, and an intriguing and complex narrator, Cuckoo is impossible to put down. I flew through it!' Jennie Godfrey 'Twisted and deliciously surprising – I loved it!' Heather Darwent 'Audaciously twisty and achingly tender' Erin Kelly 'A debut with terrific pace and sinister character dynamics. At once beautifully unpredictable and unnerving. I loved it.' L V Mathews 'Cuckoo is an outrageous white-knuckle ride that packs one hell of a punch, but as the psychological journey unfolds, the truth is as heart-wrenching as it is shocking. Callie Kazumi is one to watch' Alice Slater 'This book is INCREDIBLE! It will mess up your mind and you'll finish it wanting more! Brilliant and addictive' K L Slater 'Clever storytelling against a backdrop of vivid psychological trauma, and a sense of creeping horror as you realise the truth about the plot. Highly recommended.' Helen Cooper 'Addictive and poignant and doesn't let go until the very end' Joe Gibson

Pickpick

As a big fan of thriller stories, I quickly recognised this type of story and figured out what might be going on. That being said it was still a good read. Its an easy thriller that you can just sit and read. The ending was good and i did like the very final diary entry. That was cleverly done. The book is told by Claire in the present and her diary entries plus flashbacks to her past with her mother. #Netgalley 3*

Pickpick

After a rocky childhood, adult Claire has finally found happiness & is engaged to fiancé, Noah Coors. Everything is almost perfect, until the day that Claire decides to take lunch to Noah's office only to find out he no longer works there. Her calls to him go unanswered & he won't respond to her messages - in fact he seems to have disappeared. As Claire looks for her missing fiancé, the truth about him starts to emerge.

OutsmartYourShelf This is a fast-paced read that keeps the reader's attention glued to its pages. The narrative is told from Claire's point of view, both in the present & via flashbacks & diary entries. It's difficult to review this without giving anything away, but I will say that about halfway through I started to wonder about certain things & after that the ending was not a surprise. 1w
OutsmartYourShelf It was in fact quite predictable if you're a regular reader of thrillers & suspense, but that didn't detract from my reading experience. 3.5🌟

My thanks to #NetGalley & publishers, Random House UK/Cornerstone/Penguin, for the opportunity to read an ARC.
