As readers, we learn of the customs, foods, and traditions of this Persian family. The boy is clearly hoping for friendship and acceptance in this charming story in which he describes his family, games they will play, crafts they will do, and foods they will eat. This welcoming picture book will provide a wonderful opportunity for reflection about our own lives and the lives of others we may know and promote friendship between people with different cultural backgrounds.

4 ⭐ This book explores what it means to have a new friend if your new friend was Persian. It goes through what a day of friendship would be like when invited over to a Persian household. This book was lovely. The illustrations have this pastel feel that is soft and embracing and warm to that match perfectly with the thoughts provided in the book. That meeting new people and having new experiences is a great thing and you are welcome anytime.
