Her name was Anna and she worked as a waitress in the last standing greasy spoon cafe in Notting Hill London. She was the girl of his dreams: sexy, beautiful, intelligent and kind, everything a man could ever want in a woman. But Andrew could never imagine her ever falling for him, after all, what could she see in a balding, grumpy, penniless artist with no future prospects?While trying to come to terms with the breakup of his earlier relationship as well as struggling to make a living working in soul destroying jobs, Andrew spends part of his meagre wages on the cheapest meal in the cafe ( Egg and bacon) in order to lust after Anna. His life takes a turn for the worse when he meets Ansell, the type of stereotypical black man that his mother always warned him not to be. Ansell was happy-go-lucky, muscular, sex obsessed, with children outside of marriage and worst of all this despicable creature wanted to be his best friend. And yet, can this unusual friendship be the catalyst for Andrew to finally change his life? This is a story about learning to love yourself and to realize that the opportunity to change your life is all around you; you just have to take a chance.
