A movie featuring a character that (especially female) comic book readers have been waiting on for 80 years. It took us this long to get it because, according to the studios, "people won't spend money to see a woman in a lead comic role fighting men. Women can't carry blockbuster movies." pickI really enjoyed this graphic novel written by Gail Simone. It was engaging and at times humorous. It's rare to find a female comics writer although hopefully that will keep changing.
