so-soA little too on the nose with the Twilight comparison referenced in the author's note. Forbidden romance insta-love was way too quick and with little reason. Insta-bffs also seemed rushed. Why did any of these people like each other? Interesting premise, but fell short of expectations for me.

The plot lacked originality (angels/demons), some characters fell a little flat, could have used more world building, and I thought the way the angels/demons identify one another (seeing each other's breath, really?!) was a tad ridiculous. I think there was potential here for a good story but as is it was disappointing.

so-soIf you like Lauren Kate's Fallen series, you'll enjoy this book as it's very similar. I liked the Scottish setting, the trip to London's famous landmarks and the magic. I could have done without the insta-love. I just wasn't feeling the chemistry.
pickI'm not normally a fan of angel books. Hell if I had know this was one I probably wouldn't have read it. But I'm glad I did. It's one of the better angel books I've read. I also loved that it was kinda like National Treasure or The DaVinci Code with angels and demons. It also didn't hurt there was a hot Scottish angel either. I can't wait for book 2!
