⚖️ I read this for my book club. It‘s a collection of her speeches from 1994-2009. Unfortunately we continue to deal with the issues of race and incarceration she discussed back then.

Daidria: "Angela Davis is my shero. This book is a compilation of her speeches that challenge the definition and concept of freedom and democracy. I've had it for a while but am reading it for the first time right now. Her perspective is timeliness. She says everything I think and she does it so eloquently. Her Black feminist lens makes me feel understood. She's all about the collective voice. I really do feel that I'm her and she's me."
