Picking up where The Tower on the Rift left off, Karan, a young Sensitive who carries the blood of all three Worlds in her veins, finds herself holding the knowledge that can either heal or permanently destroy the rift. The time is right for Rulke, the great betrayer, to at last use the deadly construct he has spent a thousand years perfecting. Unfortunately for Karan, the only thing he needs to succeed is her unique talent. Lost in the Nightland with her lover Llian, they are faced with the decision to seal the only gate that will send them to their homeland. If they fail, Kulke will ravage the world with his construct. And if they succeed -- Karan and Llian will find themselves trapped in the Nightland for eternity.
