The Sookie Stackhouse Companion
The Sookie Stackhouse Companion | Charlaine Harris
5 posts | 31 read | 6 to read
Charlaine Harris has topped the bestseller charts and become a nationwide phenomenon, thanks to the unconventional, and otherworldly, life of Sookie Stackhouse. Now take a closer look at Sookie and at her family, friends, enemies, adventures, andof coursethe lovers who set her world on fire.... Visit Bon Temps, the small Louisiana town that Sookie calls home, with a detailed map created by Charlaine herself, and learn the characteristics of the supernaturals who live there: vampires, two-natured, and fae. Examine all the branches of Sookies family tree. And eavesdrop on the private conversations between rival vampires Eric and Bill. Also, enjoy the compelling novella Small-Town Wedding, in which Sookie accompanies her shapeshifting boss, Sam, to his brothers wedding in Texas, where happily-ever-after seems very far away.... Exclusive interviews with True Blood creator Alan Ball and author Charlaine Harriscompiled from fan questionswill satisfy your craving for all things Sookie, as will trivia questions, recipes (including Caroline Bellefleurs famous chocolate cake!), and a concordance to the Sookie Stackhouse novels.

Mehso-so

This cost way more than it‘s worth. The author‘s comments that open the book were interesting. And I enjoyed the new novella, “A Country Wedding.” But the rest of it is wasted air (since I have the audio version) or wasted paper if you get the print copy. I don‘t know what is wasted for readers of e-books. 🤷‍♀️ The rest of the chapters in this book are just summaries of the books and short stories. I don‘t know why anyone would (cont)⬇️

CatLass007 anyone would want such a thing. The Sookie Stackhouse book “After Dead” is an even bigger rip-off. The print version is 80-some pages long and each page is a “what happened to this character?” type of thing. And most pages contain only a sentence or two. I know I‘ve digressed but I‘ve still got a lot of frustration with the author‘s, dare I say, money grubbing. Both The Sookie Stackhouse Companion and After Dead are flagrant fouls to your wallet. 1y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag That is disappointing. I stopped reading this series with one book to go - the reviews were so awful, I just decided that I‘d rather keep my happy memories. 1y

Dragging out spending time in Bon Temps as long as I can. Reading this at work while I listen to Bone Crossed by Patrica Briggs on my commute which I started while in the middle of listening to Brief Cases by Jim Butcher. Plus I'm reading Centerstage by Michael Kay at home at night. Too many books at once? 😅 #bookishproblems

YummyLibrarian No such thing! 3y
EclecticBookLover @YummyLibrarian no there isn't! 😆 The audiobooks really messed everything up for me! I didn't expect the Mercy Thompson book to come in so soon fast. 3y

my collection of Sookie Stackhouse or “True Blood” novels. i was a big fan at first of the books and TV show but then things went south and kept going (in my opinion True Blood had the horriblest ending of any series ever)!! I‘ll still probably collect the two I don‘t have (even though I‘ll never read them) just because I‘m weird that way 😜 #hallowreads #fangsoutfriday

ContraryMary I stopped reading near the end as well, the whole thing just took a turn. 7y
GA_Bookworm07 I loved the show. Hate it ended. Never read the books 7y

Lisa Desimini's Sookie Stackhouse cover art usually features someone #floating. Here's Sookie and Sam floating in a car. #JuneBookBugs

I saw this at my local library & was quite amused. When librarians think characters are real people.
