Being Mary Bennet | J. C. PETERSON

I got the chance to see a hilarious play entitled "Miss Bennett: Christmas at Pemberly" earlier this year and now I think Mary might be my favorite P&P character.

I was impressed at how this acted as a response to Pride and Prejudice without being a retelling. The characters have depth and growth and fit their modern setting perfectly. It looks like the author is planning on continuing with another sister, so I'm excited for that!

I remember first reading this book in junior high, and to the surprise of nobody, this is still a really exciting book. I had forgotten the ending, which pushed me to read it fast. The only thing I'd want to see more of is what happens after the ending we get a glimpse of. It left me wanting more.

Also, I would never want to live in this world.

Magical, witty, and engaging - this is a must read. I might consider waiting to read this until the next book is out to quell the heartache (lol, get it?) caused by the cliffhanger ending. This story is a great addition to the Caraval legacy, and I look forward to seeing more of my favorite antihero
