pickMeant to read this one before Christmas but ran out of time, so it‘s my first read of 2024 instead. First published in 1949, it is from the era of the Golden Age of Detective Fiction. I rather like the amateur sleuth Mordecai Tremaine, and enjoyed this slow burn of a story.
