I just finished reading this, and I'm not really sure how I feel about it, but it kept me interested until the end. 😂 There was a murder, a lot of characters, and plenty of chaos. I don't know that I'll read any more of the series, though.

Thanks so much to my #LitsyLove family for this wonderful surprise mail! I can't wait to read this book, and I love this coffee flavor! Thanks so much for thinking of me! 💙
Thanks so much for the surprise bookmail, Misty!! I've been looking forward to reading this because I really liked Elle Cosimano's Nearly Gone. Thanks so much for thinking of me, my sweet friend! 💗 @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
On the one year anniversary of his wife's death, Arthur finally thinks it's time to go through Miriam's things. When he finds a charm bracelet he'd never known she had, he decides to step away from his very structured life and start trying to find out where each charm came from and what each one meant to her.

This bittersweet story is about a couple in their 80s who go on one last roadtrip. Ella has cancer, and is tired of all of the doctors appointments, treatments, and medications. Her husband John has Alzheimers. Despite everyone telling them not to, they pack up their Leisure Seeker camper and drive what remains of Route 66, all the way to the end. While they travel, Ella thinks about life and the vacations they took over the years with their kids.
This was between a pick and so-so for me. I really liked the beginning of the story and following Maisie along on her quest as a detective. I thought the jump back in time to tell her backstory was a bit clunky (and probably should have been a separate book, or the beginning of this book). And then the mystery part at the end seemed rushed. I'm not sure I'll continue with this series but I really did like all of the characters.

I've really enjoyed the Sloan Krause mystery series set in a brewery in Leavenworth, Washington. This is a short novella between books 5 and 6 (coming out soon!). Sloan and Garrett are touring Confluence, a local brewery in a neighboring town, to see if there's a potential for them to work together in the future. Confluence doesn't seem to be running as smoothly as Nitro does, though, and Sloan is determined to find out why. 🍻
This quick, one-sitting read was a sweet story of friendship carried out mostly through letters. In the 1960s, Imogen writes a column in Northwest Home & Life magazine. Joan writes Imogen a letter to let her know how much she enjoyed her recent column about digging for clams. Despite their age difference, they strike up a friendship based on their love for food, which turns into a much-needed source of support and encouragement for both of them.
Vintage books that are part of a series with flowers decorating their covers keep showing up in random places in Miracle Springs. The name Hester has been cut out of the cover of The Scarlet Letter. And someone is trying to hurt people in Miracle Springs. Nora and Sheriff McCabe are trying to figure out if the books are related to their friend Hester, and if so, how and why?
#5 in the Secret, Book & Scone Society Series
Nora's October window display of strong women standing around a cauldron is not appreciated by everyone, and her bookstore is one of a few businesses that are being targeted by a local group as places to avoid. Things get more serious when two murders occur. Nora helps solve the murders, as well as the mystery of an old book of potions.

📚 Tortilla Flat- rereading for #AuthorAMonth
@Cinfhen
I haven't read either of these in a long time, but John Steinbeck is one of my favorite authors, and this is one of several copies I have of both. I started Sweet Thursday the other day for #AurhorAMonth, but felt like picking this up and rereading Tortilla Flat today. 💙
I feel seen, heard, and understood! 😀 As a Gen-Xer, this book is all about the things that shaped our generation. I really enjoyed the first part of the book and all of the nostalgia it evoked, more so than the second part of the book about politics and news. But it was still interesting reading about politics and news, since they also helped shape the decade.

In 2021, Josie inherits Cadwallader Manor when her father dies, and discovers love letters written by Elias Roch to Josephine De Clare in 1821. As Josie reads the letters, she falls in love with Elias, and wonders if perhaps they've met somewhere in time, since Josie's full name is Josephine De Clare.
