I requested this book from NetGalley in the hopes that it would motivate me to finally do something about all this stuff. While some of the book and the minimalist movement is not for me, some of it was incredibly helpful and motivating. Full review here http://tinyurl.com/ybfv54wh #73of2018

"A home that is filled with only the things you use and love will be a home that you love to use"

Stacy_31 We tried the minimalist thing for a while. I love the idea behind it but have found that keeping up with it is so much work. 🤷🏼‍♀️ 6y
Tamra Moving helps, a lot! We‘ve been in our house 16 years and added two children. Now that we‘re leaving it, culling was much needed - general rule of thumb was if it hadn‘t been used in a year it‘s out. There are notable exceptions of course, books for instance. 😉😆 6y
Chellebearss @Stacy_31 I just needed the initial motivation to dispose of stuff we haven‘t used in years. I think we will still have too much stuff but it‘s still better than where we were 6y

Chellebearss @Tamra I wish we had of done that before we moved to this house 3 years ago but I had a new baby and no energy. It‘s getting done now though :) 6y
ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled My big thing lately was taking all our DVDs and putting them in album sleeves and throwing out the cases. Freed up so much space!! 6y
SleepyDragon My problem with minimalism is that it doesn't allow for storage of things you know you will need again and/or in the future. I saved so much money holding onto most of the baby stuff and clothes from my first born, even though there's an 8 year gap in age. My friend gives me her daughter's outgrown clothes, though my daughter will not wear them for another year, etc. 6y
Chellebearss @ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled that‘s a good idea! 6y
Chellebearss @NeesyBeth yes I agree that saving money by storing things would be better than the minimalism ideas. I‘m finished having babies so as my girls outgrown things I‘m getting rid of them and not storing. If I wanted more I‘d for sure store stuff. Baby items are just too expensive not to do that! 😃 (edited) 6y
