A new adventure awaits me. From the Cali coast of "The Sellout" to the Pacific Northwest for what I hope is a good mystery. Fingers and toes crossed. It wasn't easy selecting a book from the #BookStackfromHell!

With all that has been going on across America lately, this book points out the many inconsistencies that exist in "one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." I suspect that some might be offended and others will laugh uncomfortably. I sincerely hope that more of us will acknowledge that in satire, there is truth, and work together to make this a country for all.

Maude was an amazing woman. Her life was one challenge on the heels of another and she persisted. Her resolve to keep going, no matter what, is to be admired. Reading this story about her life offers a view into American life at the beginning/mid 20th century. The perspective of a woman, and not one who went to college, but instead had limited educational opportunites and was expected to marry early, is rare.

Just finished this. I truly enjoyed it. I didn't expect some of what happened, which is great. We do all have things we wish were true, and keeping secrets from those we say we love is destructive, even if only to ourselves. It was a quuck, easy read, and free with Amazon prime (no coins were earned with the plug; just thrilled with the access).
So if you want a quick, easy read that has you wondering, this is one.

The Elephant in the Room by Jon Ronson
So this was one I came across in Amazon Prime Reading, and literally zipped through in less than an hour. I couldn't stop reading, even though I was in bed, and should have been sleeping. Fascinating...unless alternative facts appeal to you. If that's the case, you won't like this at all.
It's dark, and at times, I chuckled. Was I crazy about it? Not really, and yet, I made it to the end. Perhaps because of the times I chuckled. I definitely felt it was an#AtoZLitsyReadingChallenge. #E @BookishMarginalia
