This one started out excruciating slow. And to be honest it felt that nothing really happens for the biggest part of the book.
But then when things do start to happen... O boy!

I suspected the big twist from the very first preminision made way back in the first book, but that was also one of the reasons I wanted to continue the series.
This will be an epic ride I want to continue until the very end.

jenniferw88 @BarbaraBB she is an autobuy author for me, so I'm not really surprised it was 5 ⭐️! She has two series - if you like fantasy, this one in her new series is the book to try, but if you prefer (historical) mysteries, then you might enjoy the one in this comment better.

RamsFan1963 I wanted to read this, but I've seen a lot of negative reviews. If you want to know more about Henry IV, I'd recommend reading Dan Jones's Henry V. It covers the end of Richard II reign, Henry IV seizing the throne, and leads on into Henry V reign as king. 10mo

This is a typical Hero's journey with all the usual tropes you'd expect. Nothing earth shattering or different. Still I enjoyed visiting the world of Alagaësia and getting to meet all the characters. I'm intrigued to see where the series will take me.
I have my suspicions and would like to confirm them.

Eragon feels choppy, like everything was written and rewritten to make it sound good, using unnecessarily complicated words instead of just telling the story. 10mo

I think I loved the characters more than the story and would read more of the series to get to know them. Because the story of the really bad Gus is meant to go on, I felt a little as though I was left hanging at the end. Th#e story kept moving, though at a pretty good pace. Now in their 30s members of the local chess club return to town upon their buddies death. Their goal…clean up the town.
