Mehso-so

Finally got around to reading this. Not too sure what I thought so I looked up the author and listened to her and got an idea of what she was doing in this book. Loved her descriptions of NY. Very real.
The story somewhat repetitive and drawn out. A brave first novel.

Have been trying to track down her books in our library system . Most available as ebooks. Disappointing for me. If I were to try an ebook, what device would you suggest ?
Found this in an op shop. Such great writing.
Always makes me sad that she died so young. Such potential, gone. 😢

Suet624 Can‘t help you with an ereader because I don‘t use one but I downloaded kindle onto my iPad and read ebooks that way. Granted I rarely read an ebook so I probably don‘t know what I‘m missing. 2w
BkClubCare @Suet624 - just piling on that I prefer to read Kindle books via the app on my iPad over using my Kindle device. The iPad kindle app is just so much easier. 2w
BkClubCare And Wow - she has a lot of books, none of which are available on my Library‘s Libby access. 2w
CarolynM I also use the kindle app on my iPad and find it very user friendly😊 I really must read more Georgia Blain. Such a very sad loss😢 (edited) 2w

A couple goes into the crime lab and holds people hostage because the police failed to find their missing daughter several years ago. They threaten to burn critical evidence of major crimes until the police find their daughter. This is a quick thriller that was really good. If you like James Patterson, you‘ll probably like this one.

Was 🏡 for the hols but leaving 2morrow. Went 2 Salvos with mum 2day. She found me the linen tea towel (a steal at $2) of my fav country & godson & I scored some $1 📚! Lots of dvds to watch over the school holidays plus some crafty projects. The 👖 are Uniqlo for $6 & perfect 4 work. They‘ve functional pockets! There r some travel sized toiletries 4 my waterskiing trip in a wk or so & 1 can never have enough tea strainers. Total🟰 $34.40.

CarolynM That‘s a Penelope Lively I haven‘t got! Hope it‘s a good one🙂 3mo

Well that was offensive. I kept reading because of the audacity!

White savior, incorrect information about an existing culture, and cultural insensitivity

Another perfect day for reading outside . Lucky yet again to find this in an op shop for $2. Published in 2011 , it took me to a country town in West Aust and to Sydney and around the Quay with the Opera House and the Bridge. It follows 4very different characters who visit the Quay , their thoughts , their stories . The writing is superb. 🤞I find more of her earlier works.

Suet624 I love the cover. 6mo

We have a shop here that sells library discards and other second hand books. Money goes to the Para quads. It is next to a Para quad op shop. It‘s a great place for book lovers and not too far from where we live. I was so happy to find these two books. The tagged book by amazing Aussie author who died way too young. Other was a favourite of my mums. . It will join my TBR shelf.

This book was a fast and fun listen. I was hooked from the very start.. A murder has everyone on edge. I questioned everyone but was also not surprised with the twist.

This one if free on audible!

I‘m posting one book a day from my massive collection. No description, no reason for why I want to read it (some I‘ve had so long I don‘t even remember why!). Feel free to join in!
