HardcoverHearts I would love to! The only reservation I have is that I attended one of these there and they played really horrendous dance music during the silent reading period and I was so uncomfortable that I had to leave. I didn‘t know who to ask about it or to request it be (at the bare minimum) turned down. It was a Silent Reading event, for crying out loud! Do you think that was an anomaly? 6y

SusanInTiburon Golly, that looks fun! Especially if we could have a Litsy table - silent connection is quite powerful (at least on my silent meditation retreats)! 6y

HardcoverHearts Adding @Caksf since she came with me before. We are game as long as everyone is ok in saying something if they don‘t turn the music off at the right time. They have an initial meet and greet period which is fine for a little music. But given the name of the event, it should be silent. 6y

SusanInTiburon I assumed it was the reading people who would be silent, not the room. 6y

HardcoverHearts @SusanInTiburon - Sure but it was like trying to read in a techno disco. Some light background music would have been fine. Not the drum and bass they were playing at a volume that even my earplugs couldn‘t mitigate. And I am completely serious. 6y

HardcoverHearts @ReadOrDieRachel - Ok! I called to verify what the format is expected to be, and it turns out that was an outlier experience. They said while there may be soft background music, dance music was certainly not a part of it & absolutely not at those levels. He indicated that they had received multiple complaints about it after the event, so I guess I wasn‘t the only one surprised by it. Looking forward to it! Maybe others will come? 6y

What a great event! I saw two terrific panels, got to meet Nnedi (bottom photo) and best of all I got to meet my first real live in the flesh Litten @cocomass (top photo)!!!! It was so nice meeting you Coco! Hope we can do it again soon with more #BayAreaLittens. #BCAF2018 #SFPL
