I am glad they‘re grandfathering in people who already paid for the app. But I do wonder if, eventually they‘ll try to force everyone into the monthly sub model. I hope not. I love Bookly but it‘s not something I‘m willing to pay $30 a year for when, if I really wanted to, I could do the all the math it does on an excel spreadsheet. #bookly

Cinfhen What‘s bookly?!?! 7y
nosferatoos @Cinfhen it‘s an app that tracks your reading stats. Like how long you read, pages per minute, etc. it used to be called #BookOut and if you look through that tag you can see the infographs it generates for the books you read. (edited) 7y
Cinfhen Ahh, I‘ve heard of #bookout ~ thanks @nosferatoos 7y
DGRachel Oh heck no. The app drags whenever I try to use it and drives me insane. I paid for the full version but I am totally unwilling to pay a monthly subscription fee for the app, especially with as buggy as it‘s always been. That‘s insane. 7y
nosferatoos @DGRachel that‘s pretty much how I feel about it. I‘m happy to keep using the pro version I already paid for but I‘m not paying a sub fee for an app that doesn‘t do anything I could do with a stop watch and an excel spreadsheet. It‘s a nice app and I enjoy using it. But if, somewhere down the line, they decide to force previous pro users into the sub model, I‘m out. 7y

I stared at this screen for ten minutes before I figured out what is different about the app 😂😂 #bookout #bookly

I don‘t usually use #bookout to track my ebooks because I tend to read ebooks a page at a time when I can sneak them in at work. But let‘s see how many hours it takes me to read this between entering in new book numbers 😂😂

It‘s been easily 33-35 years since I read this and I‘m happy to state it still holds up! Reread in preparation for the movie next month, which looks FABULOUS. Can‘t decide now if I should read the next one or come back to it later. Happy Sunday! #bookout

Is a very interesting novella. Has some twist I didn't expect and let me thinking about what is the purpose of life and how we should try to make the best of it #bookout

Knightingale I loved this. 7y
BkClubCare I loved this, too. And they‘ve made a movie of it! 7y
CaroPi @BkClubCare Yes I know! I will try to watched soon 7y

My first book with #bookout (though I was 20 pages in when I started, so my stats are a bit skewed). I am undecided on the app, but enjoyed this book. Yoshimoto‘s writing feels a bit stiff, but it somehow works and is distinctive (though maybe this is partly the translation? I think I often find books from Japanese to be this way). Anyway, an interesting take on love and loss and going on. #1001books read 196.

chrissy.ww I‘ve discovered that the app also allows you to save the photos in square format, which is much better for Litsy and Insta photos 😂 7y
DreesReads @chrissy.ww I could not find that option—I figured it was part of the paid version! 7y
chrissy.ww @AudreyMorris Oh! Maybe I have the paid version. The option only just popped up for me recently, when I hit share, it offered it to me. I do love the way it lets me track my reading time. One think I have found handy is that you can set the amount of pages for the book. So if there's a heap of crap at the back you're not going to read, you change the amount of pages to suit that point. 7y
DreesReads @chrissy.ww I‘m the weirdo who reads backmatter (especially endnotes). I also read intros, even if they are 40 pages. I wish any app would figure out how to include pages with Roman numerals in page counts! 7y
chrissy.ww @AudreyMorris I count whatever pages I'm going to read and add or take it away from the total. Graphic novels are a pain in the ass cause alot of them don't have page numbers 😑 The ability to change the page numbers also helps depending on the edition you're reading etc. I'm a bit finicky with it 😂😂 7y

This book was very well written. Told in a way that gives you the facts, but still makes you feel like a story is being woven. Everything flows together. I was carried right along for the ride.
Anybody who‘s ever heard of Jonestown know what happened there. If you have any interest in true crime, particularly cults, then I highly recommend this book.

I just finished the Audio book and man alive was it good. I love all the different actors. Also, I can really see why fans of the book weren‘t to keen on the film. But honestly I love both. #zombies #maxbrooks #audiobooks #bookout

howjessicareads I agree, I liked both! 7y

Just finished this one, and boy did it carry me through.

This book is an amazing mingling of story of H.H.Holmes and the very true to life take of the Chicago World‘s Fair.
Fair warning to anyone looking to read a book just about H.H.Holmes, this is not it. It‘s much more a tale of the Fair, and the horrors that took place alongside it.
