Pickpick

Just finished this book about Thomas Cromwell, adviser to Henry Tudor and his infamous second wife, a book I have owned for awhile and read for the #goldenmanbooker. I really enjoyed this book, though it was not a quick read for me, it took a lot of effort to keep up with the plot and characters. A very well researched book, this is for people who enjoy detailed, cunning political type books, not those looking for a fast paced period drama.

Lcsmcat Bring Up the Bodies will be easier, because now you know the players. But she needs to finish the third volume and get it published! 6y
Ruthiella @Lcsmcat Agree the second book goes faster. I think Mantel also relaxed her use of “he” in that one. Can‘t wait for The Mirror and the Light! 6y
CindyE09 @Lcsmcat @Ruthiella I bought the second one and I need to read it soon so I don‘t forget the characters, especially since it is in print so I won‘t be able to look all the characters up like I did on my kindle 6y
