While I enjoy this series over all, this volume was just alright to me. I didn't quite fall into the drama with Bishamon and her family, didn't understand the transformation of her clothing at any stage, and wanted more of a look at Iki's situation. I also felt like Bishamon's strength was undervalued here. #Manga

Ooooooh man I didn't expect Kuon, of all characters to do what he did.

And honestly so early in the series because the way that egomaniac has rigged this whole thing, people were going to eventually turn on each other, it was a given, but not this early. I was proven wrong!

Two of the apprentices team up to take on the next test in their academic journey: get their chosen bird creature through an ancient stone tunnel. This absurdly beautiful and adorable manga took a bit of a Full Metal Alchemist turn in this volume. #Manga #Magic

These volumes 2 and 3 of this series didn't disappoint.
We follow the MC on his quest to become a kafna, a protector of books. I really enjoy how the author is building the world step by step through her series, just at the right dosage.
Again, it's a series that a lot of book lovers would love, because it's about books 📚

Picked up right after the first volume and it was amazing to see.

Nomura has drawn a lot of action panels, which just drives the excitement of this whole thing in my opinion. Especially as the round robin tournament continues with Isagii's team still clashing with themselves.

Hopefully they figure out their problems before moving forward 😔

Wow... That was a fast paced first volume and I think I'm going to read the rest of the series!

I had this one on my TBR for a while and I'm in love with the art style! Some of these panels are just amazing to look at, the artist, Yuseke Nomura, does some amazing things with different perspectives and use of line thickness to really draw the eye to specific panels.

Another series I haven‘t read in ages! This is the FINAL volume - the conclusion of the series. It was pretty epic and bittersweet ☺️🩷 Glad to have read and collected this series 👍🏼

I loved this even more than the first. Now that we know the characters and world, we get to see them suffer through adventures and learn more about their magic. Agott is growing on me, despite her moodiness. She's got a backstory I'm interested in learning. Loving all the action in each installment, and the cliffhanger endings!

This was not good. The world is barely an outline of an idea, there is zero character development, huge chunks of the story are flat-out skipped, and there's a couple of pages of completely out of nowhere 100% gratuitous nudity. I will not be reading the second volume.

My oh my, oh my, oh my!! There‘s so much going on in this volume, lots of action! I‘m actually not done reading it yet because then I‘d only have 1 volume left until next spring 😭 Also the anime has been delayed until 2026, too 😭
