Lore Olympus is still one of my favorite WEBTOON series, EVER. The art is gorgeous, the story is thrilling, and I'm so intensely invested in this world and its characters 😄

I can't recommend this series enough if you love comics/graphic novels or mythology! Volume Eight is real good and I can't wait til next month so I can read the Ninth!

I just started on a new manga series and I'm really enjoying it so far. The structure is pretty different from other manga I've read. It has a lot of time passage between key moments - but it's pretty cute so I'm having a good time with it 😊

I was so excited for this volume given the second one's cliffhanger, and it did NOT disappoint. The only problem is I have to wait for volume 4 to see what happens next 😭

I'm way more invested now than I was for the first and second volumes 😅

Pretty excited to start this as an audiobook. I love sharks, I love R. L. Stine; this seems like a perfect combination 🦈📖🎧

I started this series a long time ago, but never finished it. The first book is still so good! Loved MacLeod Andrews' narration of the audiobook 😄

I'll have to try out the newer graphic novel adaptations next as I restart the series 🙂

I don't think I gave an eff to begin with coming into this book. 😂 Chapter 9 feels like the only chapter with some real depth & substance to it. Others feel fluffy & like a young drunk dude telling you his life story while you nod along at some things wholeheartedly & then keep nodding throughout to be polite when you're just over it.

RoyallyReading More like a random memoir of sorts than a helpful, impactful guide.

This book likely would've been more enjoyable in my 20s. In my early 30s I feel like I've already come to a lot of these “realizations“ or found more rewarding & effective life approaches from other books/resources.

This audiobook was exactly what I needed to be able to relax during a super long car ride. It was familiar, added some fun extra details to fill in silence gaps from the film, and was an all around good time. If you love Pirates of the Caribbean, this doesn't disappoint 😊

CrowCAH I totally agree! I‘m a LARRRRRGE fan of POTC! I watch TCOTBP many times. To change it up I‘ve watched with subtitles and other times no sound. It changes up the experience. 1mo

RoyallyReading @CrowCAH I tend to watch things with subtitles, but with no sound seems interesting! I might have to try it 😊 TCOTBP is my favorite, but DMC has my favorite sword fight in the series. 1mo
CrowCAH @RoyallyReading yesss, the three way sword fight is one of the best! I also enjoy Will‘s and Elizabeth‘s “marriage sword fight” in AWE!!! 1mo

The next week there's a chance I'll just be chronically online. My grandpa is entering hospice care at home and.....there likely won't be much happening apart from me reading and visiting. I never know what to do with myself at moments like this, so reading, gaming, and online socializing tends to be what I turn to. I'm taking 3 physical books and I've loaded my tablet with ebooks/audiobooks. Far more than I'll need or get to, but that's what I do

I'm almost done and this book has been pretty interesting overall - but I REALLY need more xenomorphs tbh. This one is suffering from a general lack of alien creatures given it being part of a larger franchise that prides itself on the titular monster. 😅

RamsFan1963 I have this on my TBR shelves, I'll be interested to see your review 1mo

This is a pretty good YA/middle grade book starring Marvel's Iron Man. It was exciting, it had danger, it was explosive. All in all, a fun time for a Marvel fan wanting a reading fix! It isn't the most in-depth Iron Man story and it's pretty barebones. Classic villain, classic villain plot, a snarky genius kid, and Iron Man put together makes for a good read as long as you're okay with all that 😊

I finished my first #BookSpin read! This book is setup very similar to the first one, The Last Wish. I liked it and I'm liking how the stories are starting to build upon each other with the theme of destiny. I'll eventually start book 3, but not quite yet. So far I've been very happy with The Witcher series.

Big was one of my top favorite reads in June. It speaks so deeply to the way girls are spoken to & spoken about. It also really hits home on how things others think are innocent can plant seeds for decreased confidence, body image struggles, and long-term trauma. I like the way this book approaches the topic & how it tackles all of that. June was a great (and insightful!) reading month for me

I laughed, I cried, I was excited, I finished it. I still think I liked the second book better, but this is a great main trilogy. I'll be taking a short break before I fully jump into A Court of Frost and Starlight; I'm working on some of my other library check-outs. This one was just so satisfying that I feel I need to have a little pause to let it sink in and really sit with everything that's happened over the course of these first three books.

Decided to spend a couple of days seeing how American history is being presented to young readers by reading a series I've seen around a decent bit the last several years.

This is a really good addition to Nathan Hale's graphic novel history series, particularly after reading One Dead Spy, which kicks it off. Both are about the American Revolution and present an in-depth picture of the war, while being accessible to kids. I def recommend it!

I liked this book WAY better on my second read of it and I already have the second book checked out and ready to be read! It's a humorous adventure and has a lot of charm. It isn't exactly like the movie which makes it fun to experience as an essentially new story by comparison.

I finally finished reading this one last night!! SOOOO much better than the first book. I was excited, I was intrigued, I didn't expect myself to like it as much as I have. The first book in the series had me a little concerned about how much I'd be able to get into the series as a whole, but finishing book 2 has me already running to start book 3! I need to see what's next for Feyre, because that ending was a whirlwind.

We have a ton of the Branches series books for young readers, so I've wanted to read a few to see how they are.

This is my second and it's super cute! Both this one and the Pug Diaries are fun, light-hearted, and seem very approachable. I'll likely be reading a few more so I have ready to go recommendations for my library's little bookworms!

First time doing a #5JoysFriday with @debinhawaii!

This week I was able to do a lot of self-care and family bonding. Started off the week seeing How to Train Your Dragon for my sister in law's birthday and bought a Jaws popcorn bucket that same day.

Later in the week I finally watched Cruella which was awesome. On Wednesday at my library we did repujados (metal embossing) & the kids did great! Then today I just finished reading Detective Bean!

Super cute and lighthearted mystery graphic novel, perfect for young mystery fans. I love the art style on this one and the way it can be used to introduce kiddos to detective fiction.

I love this fresh take on Osamu Tezuka's classic story! The art is so smooth and really doesn't divert too far from its inspiration source in terms of design. I can't wait for the sequel to release and hope this graphic novel gets the love it deserves ❤
