Hard Reboot | Django Wexler

Mehso-so

This was me giving Django Wexler a second chance. It went better than the first, but not by much. The non-action parts were enjoyable, but whenever the action started, my brain turned off. Too much visuals and too little everything else, perhaps? I don‘t have complete aphantasia, but it‘s close—if there‘s nothing but eye input in a book, I‘m unable to really enjoy it 😞

Nona the Ninth | Tamsyn Muir

Pickpick

We meet the cast of The Locked Tomb once more—all of them messy and confusing as hell, yet strangely lovable. This time we‘re seeing the events through the eyes of Nona, a born-yesterday woman-child, who understands what‘s going on even less than we do, and it‘s funny, and sad, and terrible, and glorious.

Man, do I love this series.

Pickpick

I loved the trilogy this book follows, though I can understand why someone would not—it's written in a style that could be considered flat. I like it though—this underhanded, unostentatious treatment of emotions. The style is the same here, and, even if the plot is less intricate, it's still a win in my book.
