“What have I always believed?
That on the whole, by and large, if a man lived properly, not according to what any priests said, but according to what seemed decent and honest inside, then it would, at the end, more or less, turn out all right.” #MarchMagics #TerryPratchett #Discworld

Pickpick

Kicked off #MarchMagics / #DWJMarch with HEXWOOD, one of my few remaining unread DWJs. (I might just have 3 left now.) This story was great and the advice from others to not expect to follow it all the first time kept me to a pace where I actually did follow it (except for a little bit at the end). Now if I could finally wrap my head around Fire and Hemlock!

A Valentine‘s Day shopping spree! All of the Discworld books are used and Small Gods is the only one of these I haven‘t read. Uriah Heep had come to my attention lately and Stormsong was a must have (although now it has to wait for a Witchmark reread first!). #marchmagics

bookishnerd I loved Uriah Heep! 5y
LitStephanie Uriah Heep, the character from David Copperfield? 4y
kristenm @LitStephanie Yep! I guess characters can escape their books? Still haven‘t read it but that‘s what the blurb says. Since he is my most hated fictional character, I‘m nervous to read it! 4y
LitStephanie @kristenm, LOL, I look forward to a review when you are done. Intriguing. 4y

Mort | Terry Pratchett

What is March Magics? It‘s an event that I started nine years ago on my blog (as #DWJMarch) when Diana Wynne Jones passed away and many of us wanted to celebrate her wonderful stories. Then, after Terry Pratchett died in March 2015, the event expanded to become #MarchMagics and include him as well!
I‘ll be posting lots of reads and highlights and hope some of you will join in as well!

Balibee146 Sounds great.... I adore Discworld 💕💕💕 5y

Coming soon! March Magics 2020! This is an event in its 9th year celebrating Diana Wynne Jones and Terry Pratchett in the month that cruelly stole them from us. Read whatever you want from these authors and spread the ❤️! #marchmagics #dwjmarch

Mort! I've had this one on my shelf for YEARS. So glad @kristenm is hosting #MarchMagics so I have an excuse to read it. What's your favorite Discworld book??

capriciousreader I have so many. Mort is a favorite. So is Nation. And, of course, the Tiffany Aching arc. You can't go wrong with a Pratchett. 9y
estellasrevenge YAY!!! 9y
kristenm DEATH is such a great character. I hope you enjoy the book (and keep reading Pratchett forever and ever)! 9y

AvidReader25 I have been watching the start the Discworld books for ages! 9y
TriniCapini @Avidreader25 I've only read the first two--there are so many that it's overwhelming!! But this one is early on the series. Start with The Colour of Magic! :) 9y
AvidReader25 Thanks! I was overwhelmed with where to start. I read some of Moving Pictures and it hadn't clicked for me. 9y
KristinasFavorites Are they meant to be read in order? 9y
Balibee146 @KristinasFavorites you don't have to read them in order but it might help... There is a story arc with each of the character sets... Like the witch books or the City Watch books but they will work standalone. It took him two or three books to settle into the world... First two are good but the series just gets better and better. I'm a bit envious of anyone getting into them for the first time 😁 5y
