Definitely not my favorite but definitely liked the ending and knowing more about Sally. She‘s my favorite mom. Don‘t tell the other moms.

Finished this up on my lunch. I enjoyed this installment a lot. Lots of twists and turns (haha labyrinth - get it). I‘m ready for the next one

Percy Jackson Sea of Monsters is a really good book to read. I recommended reading it because it has a lot of deep friendships involved in the story.

In his efforts to get 3 godly recommendation letters for his New Rome application, Percy is enlisted to pet & house sit for Hecate, goddess of magic & crossroads. It goes about as well as you‘d expect.

I love Percy‘s voice so much. His humor & his empathy are so wonderful. The friendship between Percy, Annabeth, & Grover is delightful. & the resolution was satisfying! & we got backstories for minor characters! I can‘t wait for book 3.🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑

I have been along for the ride for many of the Rick Riordan books (literally, as Trix has listened to most of them during commutes to and from school) and read all of the early books to Polly. But they have become increasingly formulaic and it really felt as though this was just to meet a publishing deadline. Guess I am not the target audience - Trix found it entertaining enough, although does enjoy the earlier books more.

This was fun and a nice distraction from … all this.

Little by little I‘m working through #serieslove2024 and #tenbeforetheend while I figure out what to read for the rest of the year.

1. This time of year, at least, it‘s sunrise.
2. Worst petsitting job (ever)*
* I set aside The Grey Wolf for now for reasons I‘ll describe in the comments.
#two4tuesday on Wednesday

Susanita Armand was describing a situation in which the PM could invoke the War Measures Act and give the federal government unlimited power, and that‘s too close to home now. I‘ll pick it back up later, but for now I‘ll go with light hearted mythological kids on a quest. 5mo

Bookwormjillk Were you on the Louise Penny/Hillary Clinton online conversation a few years ago when Hillary said she likes mysteries because the bad guys get caught in the end. I think of that often. (I‘m reading Grey Wolf now too.) 5mo
Susanita @Bookwormjillk No, I missed that! I‘ve seen her a couple times in person, though, and I appreciate how passionate she is about the mystery genre. (edited) 5mo

I was heartbroken after what I found in the beginning of this book. Books one through three were really fun, but Percy compared a band playing at school to the sound of animal abuse. I cannot and will not finish this series. All he had to do was say that Percy hated the music, but his comparison to animal abuse ruined his series that I would have finished.
