This was fun and a nice distraction from … all this.
Little by little I‘m working through #serieslove2024 and #tenbeforetheend while I figure out what to read for the rest of the year.

1. This time of year, at least, it‘s sunrise.
2. Worst petsitting job (ever)*
* I set aside The Grey Wolf for now for reasons I‘ll describe in the comments.
#two4tuesday on Wednesday
I was heartbroken after what I found in the beginning of this book. Books one through three were really fun, but Percy compared a band playing at school to the sound of animal abuse. I cannot and will not finish this series. All he had to do was say that Percy hated the music, but his comparison to animal abuse ruined his series that I would have finished.
These books are SO GOOD 💀 So many traumatic experiences in this one but yeesh, so good. Rick is a master storyteller. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Second book in the series. Still enjoying it so far. I‘ll have to pick up the next one from the library. I like the easy read after a long work day
To start off it feels good to have Percy Jackson and the gang back together. But I think this series has one big problem, because the series is a prequel and we know what happens,it kind of undercuts the entire series. I don‘t think this was entirely needed as I consider Percy‘s arc over as of house of hades. Aside from that, this had a lot of classic Percy Jason moments. This was a good story but wasn‘t important overall
“He's the one. He must be.“
I would have this book in my classroom library as a free choice OR I would read this to my students at the end of the day. I think this story can capture an audience at any age and it gets the mind thinking about history outside of America (Greek and Roman).
Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief was written by Rick Riordan in 2005. This is the first book in this series of 5. This book follows a young half-blood named Percy Jackson through the first of many quests. His quest is to return the stolen lightning rod to Zeus (who thinks that Percy stole it). The reader follows Percy as he makes friends, and enemies, and learns about his history as a half-blood.
