Been listening to this one; mainly on my lunch break walks. James‘s voice is pretty soothing vs his Facebook videos. Excellent advice for realistic goal setting catered towards nutrition and fitness but universal to other pursuits. Great insight to his own background and the industry.

Finished my book while I was traveling, grabbed a couple Goosebumps books and Agatha Christie novels @ $2 each from the flea market so I‘d have something to read on the flight home.

This one was intense! A change in the way the story was told vs the previous books in the series. Back story on Grant County‘s favorite crimesolving couple. Anticipating what‘s next for Lena...

Didn‘t leave me wanting as terribly for the next book as the first did (although, can‘t imagine it will be too long). The series itself is violent and graphic, and in some ways the 2nd novel was more disturbing than the first) I still like Karin Slaughter‘s new work better (the Good Daughter is why I sought out more of her work) but it‘s really detailed and terrifying and it sucks you right in. -while I‘m casting the series, I pick Demi for Lena)

If this ever got made into a movie, Breeda Wool is who I would pick to play Sara. The pacing was very good, I feel like Karin Slaughter gave a couple of the twists up too early. Didn‘t quite have time to ruminate. The character dynamics/relationships were awesome. There were a couple times Sara‘s actions made me frustrated.

I like to stay pretty focussed, 1 physical book, 1 audiobook. How bout you? How many books are you juggling regularly? #questions

brit91 WoW! Not me I only read one at a time lol🤣😂 7mo
Exbrarian I usually have between 4 and 6 going at any given time. 7mo
JacqMac I try to do one physical and one ebook, but sometimes there‘s also a book club book or a library hold comes in. 7mo

batsy I tend to have one physical book and one ebook going at the same time. But if I'm in a group read or two, it has gone up to 3 or 4 at the same time, which does make me a bit anxious 🙃 7mo
5feet.of.fury @batsy @JacqMac 1 in each format I can understand, I can see adding here and there if it‘s for a Book Club and you‘re reading along. (edited) 7mo
5feet.of.fury @Exbrarian 📚📚that‘s quite a few, what your secret to keeping the stories straight? 7mo
Exbrarian @5feet.of.fury No secret. I read pretty widely and I don't usually have 2 similar books going at once. At the moment, I have a Graphic Novel, a classic paperback, a classic chunkster via Serial Reader, a Contemporary Fiction ebook via Libby, an audiobook, a book club hardback, a reference book (that I am reading straight through), a book of short stories written by a friend, a book of poetry, and Atlas about countries that no longer exist. 7mo
Exbrarian Oh, and an audiobook 7mo

I can‘t call it a pick, but I read it in 1 day so I clearly didn‘t DISLIKE it. Some of the twists were predictable, some were completely implausible. The pacing is a little off. And (again in Shari‘s work) I didn‘t find any of the characters particularly likable. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Put the number of the book somewhere! Anywhere! So annoying to think you‘re starting a new series just to figure out you‘ve picked up somewhere in the middle with no clue who all these people are. Haha

NeonKnight Yes please! I feel silly when I‘m standing in a bookstore trying to google a book to see where in the series it falls. 7mo

1. A Stranger in the House (started yesterday and I‘m about 2/3 the way through. & Stephen King/Peter Straub‘s The Black House.
2. J Maarten Troost‘s Getting Stoned with Savages, it‘s my favorite of his and I reread it on a Caribbean cruise wishing I was doing more adventuring.
3. Watch Me Disappear by Janelle Brown

2. Ever? Aruba 🇦🇼, but I‘m planning a getaway with my bestie to Atlantic City, NJ and I‘m obsessed right now.
3. Strawberry Shortcake
4. I‘m going to an “Oddities” yard sale tomorrow and running an obstacle race on Sunday at a brewery.

Exbrarian I just finished a plate of nachos less than 10 minutes ago. I really don't know where the craving came from, but they were delicious! 7mo

Pickpick

It‘s not subtle. Cantero doesn‘t just give nods to HP and Scooby, but that doesn‘t keep it from being original. Cantero has a very unique style, particularly when describing characters and action scenes. Plethora of twists: Some predictable, but some surprising. Highly recommend.

Great characters but missing the creep factor, nostalgia and the mounting fear that the show conveys. Glad to have more backstory on Brenner and Kali. Stranger Things die-hards only.
