I‘ve missed you, Litsy! The last two months have been…wild. Two deaths in the family, a new job, and a week-long hospital stay 🫨 Anyway .. back to reading. This book was SO GOOD. Loved the POV, the back and forth, the plot twists, the flow of events, the believability..but yes, the end could‘ve been stronger and the book longer.
The Shallows is comprised of short, suspenseful chapters that alternate between the past and present, keeping me engaged and eagerly turning the pages. characters were likable and easy to empathize with, although I kept a skeptical eye on some of the secondary characters. As the story drew to a close, so did its intensity. Loved it! 🌊

It‘s been a LONG time since I‘ve read a book that was actually hard to put down. I found myself sneaking little peeks whenever I could - which is easy today when it‘s a kindle book and you have the app on your phone 🤣. This was so disturbing, mainly because you know from the very beginning who the “baddy” is and you‘re just waiting for everyone else to figure it out! It‘s also got short chapters which I love! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This one was a bit bonkers. It held my attention the whole way through, for sure. Comparable to McFadden novels.
I had a hard time putting this one down. Charly, a dermatologist, meets the man of her dreams, then shortly after that, she is shot in the head by someone in her home. While she recovers in the hospital for months, she slowly pieces together what really happened. Kept me guessing! 4⭐️
