Love the magic setup in this books. If you liked the first two books of Throne of Glass, or The Cruel Prince trilogy, I think you‘d love this book. While it reminds me of so many other books I‘ve read, it can stand on its own two legs, and I have enjoyed Whitten in the past. Her fantasy is just delicious.

Stunning. Delicious. I loved the amalgamation of lore about Hell and the Underworld that built this world. Peter‘s backstory was really well done I was itching with anticipation to learn how his relationship with Alice had gone awry. Incredibly satisfying.

Finished my first book of the year a few days ago! Atmosphere was a 4 1/2 star for me, so a great start to the year! I loved the buildup to the romance as well as the subplot between Joan, Bridget, and Francis. #bookstagram #atmosphere #taylorjenkinsreid #space #spaaaaace

For those of you who read #InDeathLongReadalong and want to know what Roarke would look like, here is a Gpt generated photo after all the descriptions were inputted from the series. They put him in space or, as the books say, off planet. It seems funny to me as we don't care what Eve looks like but are fascinated by Roarke. #RoarkeFans

ShananigansReads Is it me or does this rendering look very John Stamos? 🤣🤦🏾‍♀️ 1h
StayCurious I don‘t know why he‘s got an armour piece on his arm… 1h
LiseWorks @StayCurious you know he is always inventing things right? Maybe it's some sort of communication device 🤔 🤷 19m
LiseWorks @ShananigansReads absolutely not look like John Stamos at all 🙃🤣 16m

Oh noooo, we have to spend today's entire chapter with that most accursed class of people, the Old Maid! At 18, Lina's life is over because she is definitely not going to marry Robert: her Proud Boy uncle got into a political fight with her robber baron crush so the families have gone no-contact. Now Caroline has no other choice but to get to know the town's old maids- after all, she'll be one of them! Link to the pictured article in the comments.

A little weird at times, but still really cute. I would have loved for the backstory to be fleshed out a bit more. We were given just enough for the story to make sense, but not enough for it to feel truly complete.

I wanted to love this book because I was so enthralled by “North Woods.” But this novel was just …okay. The pacing was uneven and I found myself skimming at times. It was interesting to read a plot set in the Eastern Front of WWI, though —that‘s not a perspective I think I‘ve ever seen much of before now.

Amiable @AmyG @sarahbarnes I probably shouldn‘t have started with “North Woods.” How can anything top that? 🤷🏻‍♀️ 21m

While I‘m often reluctant to read anything with a romantasy label attached - I ended up really enjoying this.

It‘s got a very modern vibe in an otherwise fantastical, somewhat historical European setting. I loved how enterprising both sisters were & how they came to reconcile their history to their present circumstances & I do love an unconventional happy ending.

I‘m quite tempted to find myself a copy of Angela Carter‘s The Bloody Chamber…
