This went from a 4-star to a 2-star slowly but surely. I didn't hate it but there were a bunch of glaring problems with some plot points that made me scratch my head in confusion. The MCs remained stagnant in terms of character development which would have really helped with this premise.--

Doppoetry MC was pretty unlikable and wasn't compelling enough for me to care about her completing her book. You can absolutely have an unlikable character as a protagonist but in order for that to work you need to give them other qualities that the reader might engage with, a reason to care, for example. This element was lacking.

The romance element felt unnecessary as the leads had little in common aside from their self-interest.--
now
Doppoetry The story felt like it went full circle so there was no real reason for the B plot.

I really liked the little folk stories that were included, and the epistolary format of the book. I love folklore and mythology so I only wished I liked it more.
now
Doppoetry I will still read the other books, I only hope that the characters grow/improve. I am not completely put off by the series based on this one book. now
Doppoetry The setting was really well fleshed out, I have to add, and I loved being introduced to the different types of fey! The people of the village were very well fleshed out and for once the gay characters didn't feel like they were added just for the sake of it. now

Here We Go Again: A Novel | Alison Cochrun

Oh how I hate reading books with titles that put songs in my head! At least this is a more fun song than The Most Wonderful Crime of the Year. 😂

willaful @CSeydel I used to have a Bacopa plant and I could not water it without thinking, “Bacopa, copacabana...“ 🎶 It was honestly a relief when it died! now
CSeydel 😆 My mind is the same way. Live long enough, and everything reminds you of a lyric! now

Pickpick

Contemporary hospital shifter romance. Fake dating/mating that turns real very soon.

Mackenzie Carter (ER resident) needs a selfie with a possible date to get her scheming grandmother off her back. Dr Noah Taylor (surgeon) needs a mate to appease the hospital board after they found out about his alpha status. A bargain is struck and the two of them enter a fake mate-ship. But needing to spend time together actually brings them together.

3.75/5🌟

This book was a rollercoaster of emotions. It had a bit of everything. The plot was so good and the author took her time with the character development. It was just fabulous. The story is told mostly from the Arianna's POV; however, I would have liked more from Noah's POV. Other than that it was perfection. Especially, the slow burn. Give me more like this one. 4.5 ⭐ #Read2025 @DieAReader

Overall, this wasn‘t my favorite… at times I really enjoyed and connected with the characters but then there were times when I thought everything about it was absolutely ridiculous!

I loved Sean! Spicy and sweet.
Not one to read if you're very religious!

I enjoyed this as a kind of quick first finish of the year. I did do it as an audiobook, not sure i would have enjoyed it in another format.

I‘m posting one book a day from my massive collection. No description, no reason for why I want to read it.
