Remember When | Nora Roberts, J D Robb
post image

#InDeathLongReadalong Hey #IDLR friends, I know we still have a week with Imitation in Death (I still have no clue as to who the killer is) - but I wanted to post our next read now so we can find the book. It‘s different this time around because there is a Roberts book that ties in with the next In Death book so we‘ll read it first. You can find Hot Rocks by Roberts in the anthology Remember When or on its own. ⬇️

StayCurious The In death story is Big Jack, in Remember When or on its own. We will read these both in December spending 2 weeks on each. This time we‘ll do 8 chapters a week which should allow us to finish before the NY. First check in will be Dec 7. Let me know if I‘ve confused you! now

April 2025 Book #3
This one has mixed reviews but it works for me. I haven‘t read The scarlet letter but now I‘m intrigued. I liked the story and the writing style. 4⭐️Beautiful cover😍

#LittensLoveSJM #ToG Queen of Shadows Ch.71-80: Hold on…trying to catch my breath. What a whirlwind few chapters! Hands down - best part was Lysandra kicking ass as a ghost leopard. Question: do we really believe the King was mostly innocent in all his crimes? That he was just a pawn? Do we think he‘s really dead? I guess they have to go after Perrington now. I‘m very interested in how things will be now that magic has returned.

BarkingMadRead I‘m a little wary of that king, I don‘t think he was just a pawn, especially at first! now
mcctrish How bloody convenient for the King!!!!! @BarkingMadRead I totally agree now

This is a relatively chaste rom com that uses the fake relationship trope. I enjoyed the banter and chemistry between the two main characters (reporters Bel & Connor) and felt all the characters were interesting and well done. The investigation they are working on (trying to take down a sleezy politician) adds a lot to the story, as does Bel‘s backstory. I sometimes had trouble with the British expressions. Thanks to Edelweiss+ for the ARC. 4/5

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.25-26: I‘m very much enjoying this book and their mutual pining, then denying. But I think it‘s about time for another kiss at the very least. Stop teasing us so much! Also, he pushed her into the lake - here‘s hoping she didn‘t have her phone on her. Although at this point- that might be a relief. I wonder what happened to the paparazzi guy that was snooping around.

#2025 reads

I took a little break from reading a translation of The Romance of the Three Kingdoms by Luo Guanzhong and finished reading Bridget Jones's Diary by Helen Fielding.

Bridget Jones's Diary is almost a pick. I did find the roundup to the story flat, and thought the romance between Bridget and Mark Darcy comes together better in the movie because of its multi-point-of-view. ⬇️

AnishaInkspill Putting this aside, in places this is a funny read and occasionally v. funny. Without this humour Bridget‘s pre-occupation with herself would have made this a chore.

What kept me reading is Bridget‘s ditziness as she fumbles through life, it‘s this that made it a feel-good tale that never gives up on hope.

Diving into the third installment in the Dark Olympus series. With the series coming to an end next year, it‘s time I get caught up. #honeymoon #beachday
