Last night I finished my 72nd and last book of 2025. I‘ll do all the fun stats and wrapups later. For now I want to mention one quirky thing that I track just for grins and giggles.
The oldest book by far that I read this year was Emma. Thank you #PemberLittens for the kick in the pants! This also means that I‘ve now read all six of Jane‘s novels. Emma was not my favorite!
pick#Pemberlittens my last read for #JaneAusten250. Been saving Sanditon for the end of the month. It's been a lovely year rereading everything Jane wrote. I'm reading from the gorgeous new edition illustrated by Marjolein Bastin, includes Sanditon, early novella Lady Susan, another unfinished work The Watsons and the 3 Volumes of Juvenilia. Reading all these has been a perfect companion to Jane‘s 6 main novels.📖

pickFinished my last book of the year! A fun, spicy romance that I think finishes the Christmas Notch series. Good fun- once in had a moment or too long f free time to get into it!!! Happy New Years everyone!!!
I'm making a goal to read five classics in 2026. I feel like I read this one in high school and was so unimpressed that I don't even recall it (I'm a Brontë sort of girl). But it is on every single list of recommended classics so FINE FINE EVERYONE ELSE WINS I will read it again.

So far, a friend of Roarke‘s seems to have been framed in a gruesome murder. luckily, Eve is not the type to just go by what a crime looks like - she takes every case personally and she‘ll get to the bottom of it.
After enjoying the Suitcase Sisters books in 2025 we had ornament show-n-tell at our December meeting and we made book ornaments full of mini versions of all of Robin Jones Gunn's fiction titles. Thanks for inspiring such a fun evening through your writing! ♥️
pickThis was a fun read, if a little light on plot. The deeply rooted family issues and struggle with self on the part of both MCs kept it from being just silly fluff. It was easy to cheer for Sylvie as she found strength and built a new life for herself — although I do think financial independence might have been a better choice. Lots of sizzling scenes and Scottish vistas, and plenty of angst to keep things going. I enjoyed it!

What a book to end the year with. It had everything—history, intergenerational drama and trauma, epic love stories, tragedy at its peak, life, loss, curses, and even lawsuits—all wrapped into one neat package.
pickI totally forgot about these books that I listened to whilst gardening and organising stuff in my house. The first book in the trilogy White Tiger was picked for our book club. I then continued on listening. These books were terribly written and needed a good edit but I loved that it was set in Hong Kong where I lived for a few years as a child and I just went back to visit in October. I also found the story interesting. ⬇️
