dabbe @ShananigansReads I don't have kids, but I once read THE RED PONY to my 7th graders, having not read it beforehand (rookie teacher mistake). When I got to the sad part (I won't say what it is), I sobbed so loudly I had to leave the classroom to compose myself. 🤣 I have a feeling it would be the same with this book for mothers. ❣️ 6d

dabbe @BooksandCoffee4Me Yes to both! Every time I showed the movie OF MICE AND MEN (with Gary Sinise and John Malkovich), you'd hear sniffling throughout the whole class--and this was AFTER we had read it! 4d
