ShananigansReads @dabbe @Bookwormjillk I‘m glad I‘m not the only one having an emotional breakdown due to this book. I‘m also kinda glad neither of my littlest niblings has asked me to read this. 6d

dabbe @ShananigansReads I don't have kids, but I once read THE RED PONY to my 7th graders, having not read it beforehand (rookie teacher mistake). When I got to the sad part (I won't say what it is), I sobbed so loudly I had to leave the classroom to compose myself. 🤣 I have a feeling it would be the same with this book for mothers. ❣️ 6d

BooksandCoffee4Me Cry every single time. 5d
BooksandCoffee4Me @dabbe @ShananigansReads I was crying when reading the ending of Of Mice and Men and a dear student offered to finish reading for me. Now that I recall, that also happened when reading Summer of My German Soldier. 5d
dabbe @BooksandCoffee4Me Yes to both! Every time I showed the movie OF MICE AND MEN (with Gary Sinise and John Malkovich), you'd hear sniffling throughout the whole class--and this was AFTER we had read it! 4d

Beautiful story to read to children before bed to put them in a good mood before heading off to sleep

Pickpick

This is a classic story about the love between mother and child. The mother sings the same song to her child every night before they go to sleep. In adulthood, the roles flip and the child becomes the parent and sings the song to the new child.

This book can help me teach a lesson on life cycles and growth because the book portrays different stages of life, from childhood to old age. I could even do an activity with my students by having them create their own timeline and illustrate the different stages of their life.

Pickpick

This book grew on me. After reading it outloud 18 times to K-5, the points kids took from it were: it's true, they could relate to feeling invisible, and they wanted to know more about homeroom. But what they seemed to really enjoy was designing their own landscapes.
